Do I really have to waste my time providing examples of this flawed logic you pass as reasoning?
Example: So there's no evidence that I... say, killed my Math teacher. There's no evidence that I *DIDN'T*. Therefore I must be guilty.
Example 2: There's no evidence that I'm capable of making people's heads explode with a thought, can travel through time, and can survive falling into a black hole. Maybe I just chose not to do it. However, there's no evidence that I *CAN'T*. Therefore, it's true.
Boggle, here's a question for you:
Why are there no other accounts of Jesus' miracles, God's intervention, etc.
I haven't seen or heard of a single text written by ANYone that says 'The other day, Jesus came to town and now I can see!', or 'There's a plague of locusts! The seas are turning to blood!'. The ONLY place theses events occur are in the bible. Which was written by a small group of people. You know, primitive man could, and would, write on the walls pictures of what he killed. Did something happen back in biblic times that prevented anyone from making any 3rd person accounts of what happened? You know, Christians have been LOOKING for something that proves their faith is REAL. So far they've found nothing... interesting...
ooh.... but that's right... just because there's a lack of evidence, and not a single THING PROVES the existence of god, WILL EVER prove the existence, and even though the LAWS OF PHYSICS are being totally BROKEN here (Which is scientifically IMPOSSIBLE, which in and of itself proves the god CAN NOT exist), means that god MUST exist!
After too many bad experiences with them, we prohibit 'science vs. religion' debates. This extends to evolutionarism - creationism topics. The past threads dealing with such subjects left a lot of bad blood and showed that both sides are just hit too deeply in their believes to hold a truly productive discussion. From now on, we'd like to ask you to keep your topics on one side of the divide (for example a purely mundane discussion of homosexuality or a religious discussion of the same subject, but not both intermingled), and keep your arguments within such a thread either rational-scientifical or theological.

A guy dies and finds himself at the gates of Hell.
He looks around and, realizing where he was, begins to cry.
The devil walks up next to the guy who is crying and says, "Why are you crying?"
The guy looks up in horror to see Satan himself standing before him! "Oh this getup? Don't worry about it. It is just for show. I'm really not such a bad guy. Don't cry. Hell really isn't so bad. Hey, you like smoking?"
The guy stops crying and looks at Satan. "Yeah, why?"
"Great! On Mondays, we all get together and smoke to our hearts contents! Cigarettes, cigars, joints,.. whatever! Name it, we got it!"
The guy responds, "Well that isn't so bad."
Satan responds, "Yeah, and you know what? Do you like to drink?"
The man smiles and nods.
"Wonderful! On Tuesdays, we get beer kegs, Jack Daniels, Vodka, tequila, the works! We get drunk off our **** and have a good ol' time!"
The man smiles a little wider.
"How about gambling? Would you like to make a couple wagers?"
The man nods happily.
"Well on Wednesdays, we set up the casino! We also have horse racing if you prefer. Cheating is ENCOURAGED!"
The man, starting to feel better about his situation, asks, "So what about Thursdays?"
The key here is that there is no way to prove gods existance _currently_. As we learn more and more, who knows what we may discover.
You cannot assume we know everything there is to know now. The basis of faith is believing, and that cannot be measured, yet belief and faith definately exists.

well, observe all the changes in people's lives when they become a christian, or when they find any religion for that matter

buh? I believe in God, and i dont doubt the scientific method.

QUOTE

There is no possible way to prove god exists, nothing can measure his presence, so therefore, scientifically, god CAN NOT EXIST.

Science states that God's existence cannot be proved or disproved. Many scientists believe in some form of God, maybe not the god of CT, but a supreme being none the less
Scient cannot prove God'd existance because SCIENCE DOESNT DEAL WITH THE SUPERNATURAL. Gos is supernatural, therefore science can say NOTHING about God's existance whatsoever, apart from the fact that it cannot be proved or disproved
Hell is full of chocolate pudding but you have a coffee straw tied to your mouth.
The fact that there is no evidence means that for all intents and purposes he doesn't exist.

So anyway, hell is a giant ballroom at Chucky Cheese, oh god what's that smell?

This is sort of a slim line. I'm saying that by christian standards, science is a product of the devil and a source of evil.
Satan replies, "Do you like g ays?"
The guy says "No. Why?"
"Oh... You're gonna hate Thursdays..."
You cannot assume we know everything there is to know now. The basis of faith is believing, and that cannot be measured, yet belief and faith definately exists.
I went to Christian schools for 13 years. I can say with complete authority that you do not know what you're talking about. At all. Not even a little bit. Shh.
This, of course, includes UFO cults, suicide cults, and even *gasp* scientology *shudder*. There is nothing supernatural about it, its just human nature.
