To an extend the Flood sporelings are like head crabs, but they detatch themselves from the host once they've finished injecting their genetic information.
1) Shotguns are about as cheap as they are in NS: One shot kills vs. flood. Sometimes you can catch two in the shot and take them both down. If you're not sure if your hit was 'clean', go whack the body with your gun so he doesn't get up again.

wrong, silly boy.
typically they need one killing to hit the ground, and another killing before or after they get up.

Oh yeah. Just to clear some stuff up, the "burstbags" are infested grunts. This came from the Halo.bungie.org website a while ago, when I was veritably obsessed with the game. Apparently the flood considered the Grunts "useless" and therefore use them to carry their spores. If I can find the link I'll post it, nublins
*EDIT* Here's all the Floodtastic information that you'll ever need.
One thing I noticed that's kinda scary was in the description for the 'infectious' stage. It said it plugged itself into the victim's chest and took over all motor functions. Think about it; that means the flood actually bypasses the brain instead of changing it, this means the poor people infected by it would still be alive and conscious but trapped in a body they can't control as it slowly mutates and corrupts o.O

aha, but there are no cheats, you either play it alone or with a friend (I suggest with a friend, because the warthog ride is the best ever when you have a friend, racing to the end makes it funner!)
I don't know if you could just switch over to legendary and just play "The Maw" (the last level), never tried, I wasn't cheap
Once you beat it on Easy, you can switch difficulties. The only thing is that you get so used to things going down easy that you WILL die a lot when you switch.
yeah, but what Im asking is if you can view the legendary ending by just switching over to legendary and then only playing the last level, or if you have to go through the entire game as legendary (I went through the entire game)
Yeah, in legendary, I have to hide like a little girl alot, no kamikaze rushes for me!

yeah, in the worst move ever, co-op was taken out of the PC version...
that was the best part about the game, to go through it with a friend.
All the memories that I have of that game are in co-op mode, going to the control room in the scorpion while a friend flys around in a ghost (or even a banshee if you were lucky enough)
Its still fun to play deathmatch with 3 other ppl, especially when your the best among them

good speculation, burr.
and venmoch, the grenade issue is all personal preference. the fuse is so much sweeter than the stickies... the stickies take AAAAges...
the only use for stickies, in my opinion, is to send a loaded grunt back at his own squad, to take out a few.
i usually use the stickies as decoy grenades, and throw a frag when they're running away.
