We were talking about bugs? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
Buggy releases are only part of the problem. Bugs affect the game as it evolves too. One of the effects of bugs are exploits. In the worst cases, exploits lead to duping. One of the game-killers with MMORPGs is that they are constant worlds. If something is broke, it can potentially ruin the game for those that don't wish to exploit the hole. Even if the hole is plugged, the effects of the exploits can still remain in the world because it can't be reset. In a game of NS on the other hand, the world resets periodically, and the effects are more short-lived. Until MMORPGs address this issue properly, they really are going to have problems.
One of the frustrations was attitudes like Liku's above (whether he's for real or not, there are people like that in MMORPGs). With MMORPGs, everyone's in the same boat, it only takes a few to rock it and spoil it for everyone. There's no - "if you don't like it, go play on another server". It's more: "if you don't like it, don't play". For example, say there are areas in the game where players can compete against each other. Say there's one player in that area who sits in the middle with his illegally obtained uber-mallet-of-death. He's gonna smack anyone who comes in the area because no-one can compete. Now he's just spoiled that section of the game for everyone. Great.
My MMORPG was Anarchy Online. It had all the problems I described in my previous post including all the scum who infect such games. Fortunately, I managed to find a nice group of people which is why I stayed with it for a while. Got quite powerful too.
All-in-all, MMORPGs are a nice place to visit, but not somewhere I'd like to stay these days. Which makes them pointless for me. To get anywhere, either economically, power, or socially, you have to invest a lot of time in these games. I don't have the time, or the inclination any more. Plus, I got fed up with dealing with the idiots out to spoil it for everyone else, whether openly or inadvertantly.
Well to be serious nothing is perfect. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Ooo - bit of a rant there. Better stop now.
