Well on the plus side, HL2 could be the first game EVER to secretly go gold <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
IF it goes gold today or tommrow, its possible that it will make it. Doubtful it will go gold though. :-/
This much is true.
Besides, even if the game had gone gold, as many people who leak stuff early (full games, let alone news about a game) you honestly think that if HL2 was in mass production we wouldn't know about it? That Joe B. $5.25 An Hour wouldn't hesitate to let it slip that they were shipping these things? Or what about all the retailers? They would either be incredibly sneaky, or unaware of an impending massive shipment of products...
Face it: Half-Life 2 is going to be late.
I think I'll just wait till the 30th and make up my own mind.
And considering how late Valve was with HL, and how late Games releases usually are, how is this a surprise to anybody?
Anyway, look at the plus side, Valve took forever to push HL out, and it turned out great.
Where did you hear that?

Hehe, that's a good one. Right up there with "If you hit something elastic with the crowbar it will bounce back and smack you in the face" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Prove me wrong, please.
Oh well, I expect Amazon to notify me if the release date has been changed. (I have the email that says it will ship on the 29th still.)
Because it's time to move on to bigger, better things. Using WON would seriously cripple Half-Life 2 multiplayer.
Nope. I need to see an official Valve or Vivendi press release, not some CNN imbecile's opinion on the situation. "Truth in reporting" is a phrase very similar to "high-quality communist manufacturing techniques".

Fiddlesticks.
I would assume that with so many Valve press releases made a few months ago about this, you could find something not run through the retardation that is Babbelfish. The burdon of proof is on you, the prosecution. Your evidence is thrown out, and I expect proper documentation in the clerks hands by tonight!

At least we've seen footage of the game, so we know it's not another TF2.
PCZONE: So, September 30th then?
Doug L: Yep.
PCZONE: Definitely September 30th?
Doug L: Uh-huh.
PCZONE: And the release date for Half-Life 2?
Doug L: September 30th.
PCZONE: So the games going to be released on the....
Doug L: It hasn't changed since you asked me 10 seconds ago.
There's your proof m'lord. Whether Mr. Lombardi is a man of his word or not is simply a matter of time <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Still not good enough. I want to see something that cannot be misinterpreted. Wow and amaze me with your googling skills.
Uh Valve is a fully conscious android with human-like AI that runs the software company right?
.....No? Dahm you PC gamer online!
I also agree with dr.d, I'll wait and find out for myself.

Although if you won't accept the phrase "release date" you probably won't accept that one either, picky picky. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

If you'll allow me to field this one MonsE. Ship to where, a warehouse, a storage facility, ship it onto Steam? And release to what, the general public, the testers within the company, release to the final stage of production?
Nope nothing substantial here. No mention of it being available for purchasing for the general public.
This is kinda fun, what do they mean by "miscommunication", who miscommunciated with whom? How did they miscommunicate, what method of miscommunication did they use?
For instance, if I was to say that I would do something tomorrow, then I could put off doing it forever, seeing as tomorrow never technically comes. "Tomorrow" is just a concept which most people attach to the next day in a sequence. There is no day that I can point to and say, "This will be tomorrow", because then on the next day I find out that the concept of tomorrow has in fact changed overnight, and what was once today has become yesterday, and what was once the day after tomorrow has now become tomorrow, and the statement I made yesterday (which was today at the time) must now be extended, as tomorrow has moved on to the next day in the sequence.
I'm more excited by Full Spectrum Warrior. Perhaps even a new Front Mission game..
The only way Im thinking that Valve will make this release is because they will have all the resources they need to push it out the door once its done. I mean don't you think Vivendi will have its CD presses working overtime?
Plus, I don't see any reason why Valve would keep pushing Sept 30th if it wasnt going to make it. They know they have as much time to work on the game as they want because their investors know it will pay off big.
Until I hear otherwise direct from the horses mouth, Im anticipating kicking some zombie arse this time tomarrow, next week <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
