Easter Eggs
<div class="IPBDescription">Not just in NS- in general</div> Before I start, I should point out that by "easter eggs" I mean little hidden features in games, known as easter eggs, since they're nice little suprises <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
(skip this next paragraph if you're impatient)
What brought this post on? Unlike most of my posts, not boredom. I have been very busy in fact, playing all my games again, but with all the graphic settings on max (I have a new GFX card). Naturally, NS was not much of a challenge for it (although 99fps and 70 in BIG battles is pretty sweet <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ), so I turned to other games. Then I remembered C&C Generals. I used to be able to play it poorly on minimum quality, now I can play it with good quality (some minor slowdown when lotsa explosions are going on.... my god C&C General's explosions are sweeeeeet...).
I got to mission 3 in the GLA campaign, the one where you have to basically tear down a Chinese city with angry mobs (arn't the GLA nice?). I distinctly heard one of the mobs yell "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!"
And I just thought it was worth sharing.
So have YOU ever found any easter eggs? To clarify I want to hear:
-Easter eggs only- not cheats, or hidden sections which you are told exist, and have to unlock. May make exceptions for exceptionally cool cheats
-Only ones which YOU have personally witnessed; no sneaking off to gamefaqs you naugty forumite you
-Old/obscure games are allowed, as long as we would understand why the egg is cool without having played the game.
Them's the rules.
And while we're on the subhect, can anyone confirm these two easter eggs i've heard rumours about;
In metal gear solid (the first one), is it true that if you complete it about 50 times through you can be a mini-metal-gear rex? Sounds a bit dodgy and probably not true.....
Also in MGS, is there a 3rd ending? I heard there is, but that could be another wild rumour.
No spamming please, lets try and get a discussion of easter eggs going, not a "funny screenshots thread"-esque list.

So after specifically saying <b>"Only ones which YOU have personally witnessed"</b> someone immediatly posts a link to a site. Well this bodeth not well for the rest of the thread...
<!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I also see lots of sigs hidden in TFC and CS maps. Spectate freelook.

It's also in AvP2: Primal Hunt, near the Egg Stasis Chambers.
I forget the mission, but at one point there is a lady walking through town, if you follow her through town (and manage to keep up while being attacked) you should end up in her house, where Max from sam and max (Max is the rabbit, right? I forgot <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->) in standing around with a nice little pistol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It's also in Opposing Force, before the last boss.

I'm very well aware of this.
To name a few
In the abandaon apartment building you can find one of Buffy the vampire slayer's victems, a hidden porn filming room, and an underground big screen TV that you can watch a long star trek paraody of.
The Hotel bombing mission in Mafia is name the Corelone Hotel, Corleone is the name of the italian family in the GodFather movies.
Also after you blw up the hotel office, go back to the ledge and jump into the open window on the side Backinto the burning hotel.. Somethings just not right here......
Freelancer.
There are hiden unknown Jumpholes in the omicron Alpha, and Omicron, Beta and Theta systems. Oneof them takes you to a small system that has 2 planets, One populated my apes like in planet of the apes, and one populated by machines and robots.
DUKE Nukem 3D
Go up to the video arcade and find the Duke Nukem arcade game, press your Use key on it and he will say. "I dont have time to play with myself."
In mIRC click help -> about type arnie
In Morrowind there is a tomb with the skeleton of someone who got trapped underneath some rocks and a note, which contains the last words of Indiana Jones (he really gets around doesn't he <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ).
Edit --> goto "x97:l97" press tab, press and hold ctrl+shift, click on the chart wizard button
You sure? Could you be more specific? After you type "x97:|97" do you click "ok" first, or cancel? Because you CAN'T click on the chart wizard button with the goto window up.
Click on Edit, move mouse down, click on Goto. make sure the cursor is flashing in the box (if it isnt click on the box to place it there) type in "x97:l97" (without the quotes) Click on OK
then press the tab key, located to the left of your keyboard (its the one with the two hoizontal arrows on it)
When you have done that, press the ctrl button, hold it down and press the shift button (both of these are also located to the left and right of your main keyboard) then while you have got them pressed, click on the chart wizard button (that is the one located on the upper tool bar and looks like a funky bar graph)
work out the controls for yourself
OK now?
(ps, i hope yoou feel suitably insulted by this easy fool proof step by step guide. if not, send me details of your computer (screen res and mouse sensitivity and other things) and i will break the mouse movements down into handy compass bearings and distances in very prescise nanometers.)
The original Worms had the best bug/cheat ever. What you'd do is basically select the uzi or minigun, and just when, or before you had to fire, you pressed F1, which was the key for the bazooka.
What this did was make the uzi/minigun shoot rockets instead of lead. Absolute devastation... it would shake the screen so much, and it was so great to launch the barrage right into the merticulously teleported herd of worms.
San Andreas.
Oh, bump, and I've seen all the Trespasser Easter Eggs posted on TresCom.
sadly, the first easter egg that comes to mind when I read the phrase "old games" is one no one else well have ever heard of. In Ultima Underworld, near the bottom of the dungeon is "An upset spectre named Warren". If you know anything about video game personalities, you'll know why that's cool/funny. :>
There's easter eggs in probably every game out there... Deus Ex has lots of cool ones. The UNATCO commissioner dude knows like everything you ever do in that game... I cracked up the first time I got to him... he knew I knocked out a friendly soldier at the top of the statue of liberty, and he knew I'd gone into the ladies' restroom...
