<div class="IPBDescription">your angriest NS moments =P</div> What's the most annoying thing in NS that's ever happened to you? What's made you burn with rage so much you've just quit the server? What defining moments in any game have ticked you off the most?
Sometimes stuff happens in games and you just want to scream about it... so what the heck, i started up this thread for it. Just keep the heat down to a dull roar and if any of the mods think I'm being bad by doing this/it's been done before just lock the silly thing =3
For me it was a normal everyday game of NS... until I noticed the teams had gone to 11 marines vs 9 Aliens o.O
So I started by asking nicely if anyone would swap until this guy gives me some abuse and still nobody bothers changing.
Now I always change teams if they get out of shape because I believe in having a fun, even game so it kinda pisses me off when the only payment I get in return on most servers is the rest of them won't budge.
Anyways, it eventually turns into a flaming row and in the end an admin who'd sat there through the whole thing eventually decides to slap me... the other guy doesn't get any reprimands, the teams don't get fixed and the admin starts telling me to shut up.
Net result is I was I go nuts, I tell the admin where to shove it and storm off the server never to play on it again ^^;
...and no this isn't a post against that server or it's staff, just my most flammable moment <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

There was also this time in 1.04 I think (not sure, but deffinatly not 2.0) where the gorge of our team was not doing anything, just pumping up the entrance of this one hive with OCs and DCs. I became a gorge, cause I saw this dude was a newb, and then people began to flame me! Saying that we only needed one gorge and that I was useless!!! Aparantly, they thought I pumped up the entrance, and that the old gorge was building RT, when it was me who was getting RTs. I tried to ignore them, and got a second hive. After some more swearing, cause the other gorge was still making OC farms, the admin kicked me out of the server!!!

Largely in part due to miscommunication which was partly caused by my $30 plantronics headset's mic dying like 2 months after i bought it.

I'd ran up to cap a res node at the very start of the game when some marines turned up, I managed to bile them to death with barely any health left and ran around the corner to see if they had any more backup coming.... sure enough I got shot the minute I looked, but not quick enough to stop me spotting the CC there.
So I shout out that they're building a base right outside our hive and... nobody comes.
5 minutes of dc/regen/repair/battle later a single gorge shows up to help me out but the marines rush us and we die.
Quickly running back I gut the marines before they take out the rt and start repairing them; this time a lone skulk comes to help (maybe the same person even o.O ) but against pretty much the whole marine team all we manage to do is buy some time.
By the time I get back again they've put up an elec RT and the place is well fortified with siege just starting to be built.
All of a sudden on someone else on teamchat... "hey, they're gonna siege our hive"
The whole team of lerks and a fade turns up just in time to get eradicated along with our hive; except for me of course who'd got so **** off with being ignored for a whole 30 minutes when I was warning them long before it became an uber-base that I'd ran off to build a backup hive just before the old one went byebye <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Later on I forgave them and we had a good game but I was so annoyed with them it wasn't even funny ><
me and two friends are playing aliens and everything goes smoothly. i think it was 6vs6 or 7vs7. well after 20 min or so there were 6 res tower on alien side and 3 on marine side. i was gorge fro the start on and build 4 res tower... which does mean that i have build up 80% of the alien economy. furthermore i had build 5 offense chamber and 2 or 3 upgrade chamber. thus i spend all of the res to defend and build up the economy.
then there was this high-pitched voice telling us that he will go onos and pwn the marines. well this guy was really bad and the first thing i expected was that he will waste the 100 res in no time. suddenly this guy begins to yell through voice at us, how stupid we are and why we cannot defend and bla bla... never heard so many insults in one sentence. he was killed while gestating and made us responsible for all that. well i discussed about one minute with this guy per voice and he just didnt want to realize that we cant do sth about his dumbness. i spend 130 res for the team and he wasted everything and pretends that its our fault... argh... he was lucky that this was no lan.... i would have...
the one thing that makes me burn with rage is that mostly the people with no skill pretend to be best and think they are leet as hell. this guy spent all the time dieing as a skulk with minimal kills on his side and as soon as he gets 100 res, he goes onos and dies while gestating (how stupid can one be). futher he does not even think of the possibility that it was his fault.
Needless to say, we were pretty screwed, but we weren't going to give up without a fight.
I respawned in base and got in the chair as an Onos rushed in at me, noticed that a few of our units were still in Power Silo, and dropped a new chair and the node, then some IPs and an armory. At this time our main base was filled with a couple Onos, a Fade, and a gorge dropping stuff everywhere. We proceeded to defend Power Silo until eventually both Onos just jumped over the turrets and took out our Factory, then it was game over.
One interesting thing did happen in that game though: Usually when I'm Comm and the chair I'm in is under attack, I /kill in console, then logout to get a better view of whos attacking. Normally I die in the chair, logout and it fades to the black screen, but this time I stayed on the ground. I was lying there as each Onos tried to attack me, then as a skulk ran up and tried to bite at me, and there was blood and everything, but i was lying on my side already dead, but not fading to black. Was quite funny.

He must have been really annoyed.
The most annoying thing for me recently was to go Onos in a very tough game only to revert back to Skulk as soon as I finished gestating.. because I blindly tried to press my adrenaline upgrade button, only to miss it and hit my Skulk gest. button. That ruined my game, pretty much.
Me, I was on the dealing end of an annoying moment: We had pretty much lost origin, and were holed up in base with a load of hmgs. Three (3) Onos attacked in short succession (one is done and runs off, the other enters), and we managed to down them all on the way out. Spirits were pretty high after that, and the aliens didn't really dare attack us anymore. Nevertheless, four more Onos and a few Fades went down trying. In the end the kharaa F4'd and we were pulled back to the RR under shouts of "Yay we won". The best part of this is that the only turret we had in base was a siege cannon. The kharaa must have been ****.
Started a game as marines, and a few minutes in, things were pretty OK, no major problems. I'd just respawned in base, when a guy said 'Hey, let me comm!' The current comm, being a nice guy, jumped out, and the other player hopped in.
I then watched as the entire base, including (yes) the IPs, was recycled.
His reason for doing this? He didn't like the map because he felt marines never win on it anyway, and wanted us to die quickly so it'd cycle. Never mind what the REST of the team wanted.

Yikes. That would **** me off to.
Also, when I'm comm and any structure sits unbuilt for more than a minute. This also happens suprisingly more often than it should.
Finally, as comm, when the marines criticize my choice of spots for relocationg. *cough* upper proccessing *cough* I wouldn't relocate there if I didn't think it was a good place, just put your faith in me and go where I ask.
BTW, before anyone chips in with their 2cents... Upper Processing is an awesome relocation spot. Everytime I've commed it and had marines actually get there, I've won it. The key is to go through holo, not maint.
..And my gorge gets catapaulted over the edge into the powersilo slime. Yay.

lol that happens all the time. People with a mic dont seem to read anyone elses words except their clanmates.
On nothing I build a small base, and send people to antechamber and PS to get RTs(aliens have cargo)...Two people on a 24 player server shows up at powersilo, one is alien and kills the marine. I have 10 people ramboing around without following any orders, and dont even kill 1 skulk every other spawn(this with lvl 3 weapons).
We die and I get blamed.
On Caged I decide to relocate to central, and do so with success. Then I order people to go to auxillary generator to get RTs. My entire team of 11 gets owned by one lerk and two skulks. This keeps happening over and over until we get owned by onos after about 15 mins.
We die and I get blamed again.
Also note that I am not in any way a poor comm, or bad at handing out medpacks. I usually get uppgrades up really fast and hand out a few early shotguns. Still it takes 3-4 marines to kill a single lerk or skulk...not to talk about one with DC support.
My team starts yelling at me telling me to make a farm. I dropped 2 welders and told them to close the vents then I hear.
"YOU STUPID FU&^%ING COMM THEY WILL JUST BREAK THE VENTS OPEN AGAIN!"
After that everyone started to try to eject me. Well I made sure that we were going to lose if I was ejected and quickly recycled all of our res nodes and spammed health and armories all over waste!
I realized it was noob city and left after that!
I join a game partway along as marines..
I see we have HA and GL/HMG's.. and 200+ res....
So I suit up and start trying to work my way through some alien structures
At that moment I notice NO UPGRADES!!! NOt level 1, no nothing...
So I get back to base (upon respawn) and hop in the "now vacant" CC
I begin getting lvl 1 guns..
One guy screams for JP's.. get Jps...
So I start researching JP's...
and I drop a few sets of HA/HMG/Welder to attempt to take out a hive...
I hop out of the chair to get suited up and told the guy who wanted a JP that I was researching them..
He hops in the chair and proceeds to burn through 180+ res on Jp's....
No other upgrades.. just jps....
He proudly proclaims "JPS in base" and grabs one and takes off..
Dies a minute later and continues to run through his personal supply of Jps....
Meanwhile I see there is no more upgrades coming and i hop in the chair hoping to get 20 res to get lvl1 armour...
We die about 2 minutes after that upgrade finishes... and all I can see.. IS THE FREAKIN' STACK OF JP's.... untouched.. on the ground....
GAH!!!!!
That or the fact that some player (Hope he reads this) gets furious at me for "giving away his hiding spot" when we had to do an emergency relocate and the aliens were coming to get us.... So I see this guy.. sit there for a minue then leave.. (trying to get outside a hive or anything so we may be able to make some progress) he gets killed a few minutes later and Rages on me about giving away his position (never mind the fact that they had SOF).. The most angering part of this is he continues to berate me in the RR...
/me wonders if they have built the "virtual punch" yet?

i went gorge at start to cap some res, people were asking for dc so i said i would get them, this one skulk comes runnin up and goes gorge right by me he drops three sc and goes skulk, he starts yellin "WTH why three sc!"
i tried to explain that it was the other guy but that didnt work, and it must have been one of those real strict servers cause i got booted.....
o well
I always ask before I build and he just plonked down an SC as most of the people were saying 'lets have a dc' and he never talks or responds no matter how much I preach on at the little jerk. The first time I said I'd build the towers right away just to stop him and pretty much forgot about it until the next match where he <b>immediately</b> goes gorge and slaps down an sc before I even remember lol.
In the end he doesn't bother me now because the minute I see he's joined our team I ask and instagorgebuild with my handy shortcut keys to stop the little beggar. But the first time I met him I soooo wanted to beat him to death with his own limbs =3
people who just give up when a gorge builds sense... shut up, play, try to win. Ive found that teams who say ok when asked if sense can built win far more than when everyone starts to **** and whine incessantly.
I don't mind SC first really, I just hate it when people don't have the decency to ask what the team wants. If you just plop down what you want without a word it's selfish and rude in my opinion ><
