Oh dear, we're not allowed to take advantage of a feature in a game because some people dislike it because they can't get into the marines base.

I can understand the electrifying of all turrets being unfair as it's a bug, but this isn't a bug. Nuff said.

Flayra has said he wanted something like that to happen actually... if it's an exploit, they will fix it. Nough said.

1. blocking with cc's was not planned by the developers
2. it does not give a _unfair_ advantage. you spend some res and get some benefit.
3. you can kill a cc. With two onos its no prob - even if they under fire by gl and shotguns.
4. if the cc is not "allowed" anymore comm's would drop another building.

is mine stacking a exploit ? elevator blocking ?

no i dont think so ... it just valid use of possibilities of the game because all of this tactics costs me res and dont give a unfair advantage.

Shooting through a glass and killing a rt and can't getting hurt is a exploit.

only my 2. cents

This was quoted above. Its a "cheese" tactic. Both sides have them. A cheese tactic does not become an exploit just because someone does not like em. :/ If the cheese gets too popular then a patch usually fixes it.

well...if you only place one at an exit, then it's not too bad. try having to deal with a hallway full of em. X_x or TF's for that matter...hah...but as for a lone comm chair blocking a door - send a few skulks and maybe a gorge and get as close to the chair as humanly possible...if you've all got adrenaline, you can chomp on that thing for as long as it takes, and it's hell for marines to hit the skulks if they're buried inside the CC...or if they circle the CC to try and get away from advancing marines. better yet, get an onos and a lerk down there. primal scream + gore would take it down quickly (not sure what the damage/second is on charge X_x)

edited for screwy math. i'm not up yet. X_x

I consider CC blocking a tactic , NS was intented to be a game in which you could use multiple tactics to win the game , not always the same tactic , so it's good to see people using different tactics . I think the CC blocking is interesting , the big problem , is that the CC HP is very high . One idea to solve this could be make the CC that is open (without a commander in it) have lots less HP ,like 2/3 or 1/2 . I dont know if its possible though.

I hope I expressed myself correctly.

the more I think about, the more I'm firmly believing that though it's lame (to stale the end-game), and a little unorthodow, it's still a tactic. I believe firmly that EVERYTHING is a tactic until the dev team says it's not. A main feature of NS is that there are multiple tactics, and some work better than others. Just because the dev team did not specifically say that CC blocking is a viable tactic doesn't mean that it's an exploit. They never said in 1.04 that JP/HMG rush was a tactic, and yet it wasn't an exploit either. It was a lame tactic, but nevertheless, it was a tactic. If I notice an onos coming to destroy my base and I have no marines, no phases, and no defenses at all, then I'm gonna drop a CC in the doorway and call my homies back. to take care of it. It's also a pretty quick way to trap an onos IN the base (say, at the end of the hallways in tanith), so that your marines can finish him before he runs away. IT has it's tactical uses, and it's great.
