yes, great movie. must get dvd. skint. bugga
but ian mckellen is one of the most awesomest people who has ever shone the near-blinding splendor of his awesomeness to the world.
edit: after the first time i beheld this movie's most overhwleming awesomeness, i was forced put into a state of post-traumatic awesomeness syndrome, during which time i engaged in little interaction with other people, but spent more time stealing my friend's ps2 and simulating LoTR2 ridiculously awesome awesomeness by use of the video game (which is awesome).
edit: i've found some of the mp3s, but i think i'll buy the soundtrack.
And yes, it is a great film. Some parts of it bothered me in connection with the book, but it was still damn cool.
If there is anything to point at that didn't make Two Towers as good as I hoped, it is that the movie was a bit too intense. Too much action and fighting. Almost felt that I didn't have the chance to breathe between the scenes. That's why I hope more of the great dialogue comes with the special edition. Then it will be The Best™.
Hehe, btw. I overheard a conversation on the bus once:
"Yes, great movie. Have you read the book?"
"Nah, I don't like books based on movies. They suck."

The final movie has a massive battle (I mean massive) that will probably be intersected with the smaller personal battles that Frodo will be fighting.
I am so looking forward to the second movie in many ways indeed.
Ah, here it is:

QUOTE

-Grave wraiths missing?
-Tom Bombadil missing?
-"Mr Smith" as an elf?
-Ents?! They were stupid looking and way too small
-The cave ogre looked...well it didn't look like Tolkiens Ogre
-The way Aragorn banished the nazguls. Director could've taken the liberty of making the scene more logical
-The flying monster in the end of two towers. It didn't have a head! Dumb looking thing.
-Orcs climbing on the walls...duh
-"Comedic" scenes: Gimlis one-liners, legolas riding with the shield, Aragorn throwing gimli around. *sigh*
-The fight between Saruman and Gandalf *sigh* When I go to see LotR, I don't want to laugh. Especially at scenes that are not supposed to be funny.
-I know it's from LotR books but Aragorns, Gimlis and Legolas' fighting skills are a tad too good against the Orcs. I mean only the three of them must've killed couple of hundred Orcs without getting a scratch. Fantasy...
I'm sure I forgot something but I'll update the list when I remember.
Confusing, too important parts missing. It followed the book too much in places where director should've done his own thing and took own liberties in places that should've been straight from the book. Though I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the movie. I was just waiting for something far better

Edit: I feel the same way about the books. I also find both the movies and the books to be long without reason.
Well, anyone can be impressive when you have all the money, time, and source materiel you need. Star Wars had nothing when it started, and look how good it did. It even did well with TESB and RotJ. The thing that killed LotR 2 was that they took out the spider scene. I mean, it's still going to be in the 3rd movie, I hear, but the whole point of the second book was that you didn't know what happened! Like TESB!

It had a head, it tried to lunge and bite Frodo until Sam fulled him back. Then they roll down the little cliff and Frodo almost stabbs Sam.
Are you referring to the dwarf caves in the first one? Those were goblins not orcs.
Of course parts are missing they cut out 45 min. of footage in the first one and over an HOUR in the second.
Not the movies fault that would be company producing it. (Who is it? NewLine Cinima?) They always cut crap out to make the already long film shorter. ALIEN and ALIENS was supposed to be 45 min longer too for instance but FOX mande them cut scenes out. This happens to all movies. You can see them on the special DVD.
Of course they always release the theater version, then a few months later the version with all the deleted scenes. Then they get more $$$.
Fortunately i completed it. And i wasnt dissapointed Great Book. Great Films. Great soundtrack. And all made better with the Extended DVDs

Goblins? Really? My memory claims me that someone said in the film that they were Orcs and in the book they definately were orcs.
On the monster: then it didn't have a neck. Just one long head. Anyway, I would have appreciated a creature that has a clear cut between head and neck. Like dragons for example. Main point is: I didn't dig the ents, cave ogre nor the flying creature. That's only my opinion but I guess that's what this thread is for. Telling your opinion.
omg, sweet baby jesus. i know it's not LoTR2, but you'd have to tie me down and give it to me with a cat o' nine tails before i'd type out LotRTTTPToLoTR (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Part Two of Lord of the Rings) for any reason other than to explain this to you.
so phtttbtptbtptttttppphtttpt XP

hmm. it's true, actually. the movie didn't stick with me after i saw it. i figure that's because it was *way* much to absorb in one sitting.
but also..

It was incredibly long (but still very good ), when I went to go see it for the second time it was like half of it was a whole new movie, a lot to remember, and very intense,
*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*SHING*
i was shuddering in my ecstasy.
^_^
edit: oh yeah... seeing this movie again, there are a lot of lopped, flying goblin/orc heads. it's cool how they fit it in and it wasn't too blatant. masterful directing.
ex: the "riders of rohan" or whatev. fly down the hill at the mass of the uruk-hai, and as soon as they hit, and plunge into the body of the army,
*SHINGSHINGSHINGSHINGSHING* and a head flies into the air, while they all gallop past. it was very cool.
oh yeah, haw haw haw. i forgot what they say when they charge the uruks who've breached the castle... lemme see.
Sure, if you didn't read the books.

And for that I'm glad. With Lotr2 I was getting ready to go right at hour 2. There'd be no way I would watch the whole thing if it was four hours long...
[clapping]
edit: OMG THE BOOK IS SO MUCH BETTER!!! THE BOOK! THE BOOK! I'M SO LEEEEET BECAUSE I READ THE BOOOOK AND THINK IT'S BETTERRRRR!!!
i spit on you.
The movies make a mockery of the book. And who the **** said they're "leet" because they read it?

i said it. in mockery. lol.
lotr2 is the best damn mockery i ever saw.
lol
The reason I hate the movie is because they don't add important parts to the movie [Like Tom Bombadil and the Barrow Downs] and at 30 Minutes of all the travelling Helicopter rotation shots.
