I really don't see the competition here. No offence intended to owen but there is no contest on who's is better. (for any blind or visually impaired I’m referring to acid)
ummmm. Acid draws 1 gun and modifies it a few times, useing only a few colors and no shadeing even. acid had the best pistol and Owen had the best lmg, IMO. Just look at that thing.
Owen, that looks cool too, goes along with my ideals for phase weaponry, the whole coolant idea and all.
Now, I like Acids because the colors are reasonable and its much more curvy that Owens. No offence Owen, but I would hate to hold that handle, its just to pointy.
While Owen probably has better MSPaint skills, it seems Acid has better general artistic ability.
Owen has great detail and shading, but his colours and sharp edges are not appealing to the eye. Also, Owen's picture would show off its finer points if it were magnified, since much of the detail is lost at this size.
Acid uses colours that work well together, and has rounded edges. Also, his image is larger, and uses techniques that are simple and look better, although they may take less skill. His images are also larger, thus easier to judge.
It comes down to whether this is a competition of artistic ability, or proficiency in MSPaint.
acid, you've got a good gun there, but it's just too dull. there's no shading, something wrong with the colors (dunno exactly...), nothing that makes it pretty to look at. you have great concept tho. however, try to keep it down to one gun. twould be easier to judge that way. great pic tho!
owen, you did much much better on this one. you managed to get it proportional enough, and on top of that i love your shading. good job bud! still not perfect, but neither was acid's, so you get this vote.
1 for owen.

Dude enforcer Chill out. We are having an MS-Paint comp, not a real weapons design group ok? ~rolls eyes~ Its not like these are REAL guns here ok? I mean look at Acid's too, its not like I'm gonna be saying. "Oh his plasma attatchment is too small to charge the yadaa yadaa of the electon muzzle..." What the hell? Come on, we are juding art, not design.
For this I give Owen the win. Nice use of those metal plates to take up space rather than abuse knobs or buttons to fill. Nice shading also! Keep up the good work, I like all the stuff you added on there, very futuristic. Though if I were you I would have made all those plates into one panel, just seems more natural that way IMO.
Acid snake, love all the rifles....but I thought we asked for one? Itsn't that kinda cheap if someone liked one of them the best? Itsn't that like entering three times even if it is the same design only copy+pasted with new attatchments? You're abusing the little paint bucket again. You need something to fill the space rather than a solid color. Very nice though, keep up the good work!

chill acid... no one here is saying your art sucks or that you're cheating....
the judges are gonna judge depending on what they think is more important. you can't MAKE a judge judge the way you want them to.
me for example, i am an artist. i'm not a gun smith/fanboy. naturally, i'm gonna look toward shading, color, etc. however, ppl like enforcer are gonna judge more on design. it's just the way ppl work.
now let's everyone get along and stop threatening/flaming eachother. this is supposed to be a friendly competition, not a flamewar. i suggest that no one comments on a judge's post. everyone has their opinion and the judges don't wanna put up with some one arguing whether or not they should have given their vote to whomever. i also see outsiders as a distraction. this thread is what? 4 pages long? and we've only got 2 weapons done.
let's just forget the flaming and arguing and get to the frickin judging. i wanna see some art!!!!

I'm looking at it.
-I see an abuse of metal plates to fill up space.
-I see a rather odd use of text: It's quite large and acts like a space filler, the coolant part seems to be justifying another blob on the gun, and the Battery part has very little design to it. It looks like it's just slapped on the gun.
- It has very little perception of shape in a 3d plane. I mean I see no groves or indications on the frame of the gun that would show more than just a block other than the shell ejector port and the light grey line beneath the coolant text.
-The shading i see is very few and far between so i would hardly call that a plus against acid's work.
- I see an inpractical grip design. Being too small and the fact that you have to reach your index finger up to the trigger area.
- 2 Magazines? I can accept that since there are 2 barrels but there is only one ejector port and the gun would probably break if you used the back magazine. (I'm guessing)
- There is a tiny scope wich is pretty much the only thing that interrupts the flat surface of the top of the gun.
I'm not a judge so my opinion doesn't count but i don't see any really impressive design here. Acid doesn't have a lot of pointless additions so i like his more even if it doesn't have shading.

the judges are gonna judge depending on what they think is more important. you can't MAKE a judge judge the way you want them to.
me for example, i am an artist. i'm not a gun smith/fanboy. naturally, i'm gonna look toward shading, color, etc. however, ppl like enforcer are gonna judge more on design. it's just the way ppl work.
now let's everyone get along and stop threatening/flaming eachother. this is supposed to be a friendly competition, not a flamewar. i suggest that no one comments on a judge's post. everyone has their opinion and the judges don't wanna put up with some one arguing whether or not they should have given their vote to whomever. i also see outsiders as a distraction. this thread is what? 4 pages long? and we've only got 2 weapons done.
let's just forget the flaming and arguing and get to the frickin judging. i wanna see some art!!!!

Sounds good...although i mean to correct you on at least 2 points...
i have been accused of cheating by at LEAST 2 people so far...so yes, i am being accused of cheating....
and i have been told in no uncertain terms that my art sucks...due to color, lack of shading, and lack of unrealistic and unnessecary details like metal plates.....so yeah, i'm being told i suck too.....
i do agree that tha outsiders need to SUYF, and stop arguing with tha judges....it's distracting, and fills tha competition thread with a lot of extra spam and unnessecary ****.....it's gotta stop...
and lastly....on tha subject of judging.....what in tha hell is tha point of judging criteria, if noone's gonna follow it?
if you don't know **** about guns, that's great.....judge based on what you know (From inside tha specified criteia)...if you know guns, but not that much about art, that's cool too...again, judge based on what you know.....but for christ's sake. let's mantain some mannor of decorum
i'm going to go play video games....my HMG will be up later...
::shrug::
u want tha job, or what?
