Its a speacial Zer ability called "cuteness" This ability allows them more time to strike while marines are hesatating on the trigger cause its soo cute.
i think i might know why they look frendly there are couple of things:
1: The slime Factor, the Zerg units just dont have enough slime puring out oftheir mouths, and they look dry they should look wet
2: THe spike factor their units seemed tob e more spiky in Star Craft the more spikes the more evil
3: Colours They are colloured like a christmas elf
4: They are not scary cause its a still image if one of those criters is in a game it will be more scarrier cause they can bite ur arse.
5: THe lighting, Notice in most alien movies they pop out of a dark corner so it scares u here all units are in broad day light. I bet if one of em jumps out of a dark corner while ur low on hp it would startl u.

It is impossable to have slime pouring out of their mouths, maybe they could be skined to look wet.

More spikes = more polys, more polys = more strain on your graphics card, more strain on your graphics card = game runs slower or looks choppy.

Wouldn't that be bright red and green, i havn't seen any serious models with those colors.

Wouldn't that be a map factor, lighting. Of cause a darker skin would help with the effect but mainly dark corners are up to the mapper.
ooerr check out shinzens post back on page 8. these are damn good ref pictures for how the skin should be done. needs shading along the back to give the image of bumps (not sure if you are up to that yet tho), also needs a darker 'reddier' hue to it.
Dont know how stretched the eye is, but try outline the yellow with black, no pupil, that should do the trick. I was just thinking though, maybe you should take a look at the original lerk cook? That seems to have some nice 'bumpy' textures that you might be able to make something of, and the eyes look particularly good. They would work wonders on this model.

its very odd, if a muta were real, it would use its tail to latch onto enemies because his teeth in his mouth arnt big enough but it seems like he let's out his digestive food in the game, through that mouth in his tail EWWWW
Okay, I am going to use this model no matter what when you release it, cook. I am also going to force myself to save up money and buy SC: Ghost.
I have absolutely no idea how hard it is to skinmesh or anything, since I haven't got an idea in hell how to do it, but it sounds like a **** to do. Keep up the good work.
ty ^_^ this is my first proper skinmesh/skin. i am only a kid so give me slack. even if it is rubbish someone can touch it up to make it look better at the end when im done with it.

I was just thinking though, maybe you should take a look at the original lerk cook? That seems to have some nice 'bumpy' textures that you might be able to make something of, and the eyes look particularly good. They would work wonders on this model.
