not really a downside, theres not a whole lot of ways an engine can allow for custom hitboxes whilst making a fair gaming field for everyone. unless they use some concept where you have to have x number of visible boxes or something, i dunno. Still, there would always be people trying to make it as hard to hit as possible.
but i have to point out that you have misplaced the position of it's eyes, and you also misunderstood the position of the boundary between it's head and upper body.
as i made this model according to starcraft ghost reference picture, which i will post below, i hereby show you a corrected position of eyes and the boundary between head and upper body.
here is the reference picture from SC ghost that i made this model from.

I personally liked the mutas better in SC when i thought they didnt have a head. It was just like a big worm with wings on it's tail and a big mouth on one end (why would they show the portrait of it's ****?)
When i first saw them i originally thought it had a head on top (wich, it turn out it does) then i played the game and it had the portrait of the bottom.
Iunno, i just thought they looked cooler that way. Big worms that flew by thier tails .

ok everything is fixed. i just need a decent eye, when i put a cat looking eye with a slit in it it looks very cartoony. anyone got any good references or anything for a decent eye?
i think the eyes need to be lower and maybe more forward still and they look like they have eyelashes. they should look reptilian. do reptiles have eyelashes? the body skin is not gonna stay plain like that is it? and why is there such a sharp transition to purple on those sucker things. everyone can plainly see they are pentagon-like. we shouldn't be able to see the geometry that clearly. that's just placeholder i hope.
go on why dont u have a go then. see how dam hard the mutalisk is to detail. ive given the head mesh a few posts back, i like to see what urs will look like.
edit: the dark bits on the ends are the programs shading stupid. there is no eyelashes, that is the shading on the eye and no that is not the placeholder, i will add more detail to the lower bit.
edit2: i havent seen u release anythign yet, if you do please post it and i will take a look.

The skin needs to be more rugged, like the skin on the ultralisk. Bumps, detalis like that. And it needs to be darker. Like a darkish brown. Perhaps that will work?
