    lvl1's are huge ....?

lol, should have seen them about a month ago ... as big as players and they'd glide across the floor (no animations).

Trust me, they look much better now ...

How big will the final build be?

    ~180mb?
  • MonsieurEvilMonsieurEvil Join Date: 2002-01-22 Member: 4Members, Retired Developer, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
Negative 5 MB. Flayra wrote a compression routine so good that it actually causes the download to exist in a parallel dimension.

(Actually, about 80-120MB, with it most likely being 100 on the nose)
  • TiCKTiCK Join Date: 2002-05-30 Member: 708Members
That is pretty surprising, it looks to have alot of new content. But mostly maps drive up the size of mods.
  • SurgeSurge asda4a3sklflkgh Join Date: 2002-07-14 Member: 944Members
Maps and textures definitely can up the size.

Hot damn, power-shielding armor? First time I've seen that, and the mines. Sweet.

    Nice, nice...
I love power armor, glad you decided to incorporate it.  (All the best games have power armor for some reason... Fallout, XCOM..)
It'd be nice if the dev team created a model for it post-release and included it in a patch... Is that too much to hope for?

    Some other good games have power armor.... Warhammer 40k...?  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

On that picture where the Marine is holding the mine, I dunno about you, but I think his thumbs are <b>very</b> long and... well.... creepy-looking. Could you shorten them a bit?
  • Cork2Cork2 Join Date: 2002-07-10 Member: 905Banned
well actully its a good thing they are big, so you are able to give better thumbs up <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> j/k

apparently, in the future humans have evolved gigantic thumbs to accomodate the X-BOX controllers.

Really though, if you hold your hand sideways, and straighten your thumb out, you'll realize that your thumb looks just as big. The exposed thumb region on the marines hand begins at the base where the thumb meets the rest of the hand, right by the wrist. This is right about the blue stripe on the marines glove. Once you see it rotate a bit, you'll realize the way it's shaped and see the normality. Most people's thumbs are that long in proportion. Mine are . .

MonsE says we're nigh. But how nigh is nigh? Is nigh going to be '48 hours' nigh or are we talking 'one or two more weeks of RCs' nigh? I can't stand it. I'm tired of Counter-Strike (and every other mod out there) and man cannot live on War3 alone...

    Yes, I'm the ultimate lurker.

And with the -5 meg DL size, everyone that DL's the game is putting money in the dev team's pocket by making their bandwidth meter run backwards.

Your right about the thumb thing humbaba... wierd..

Glad to see that medkit's just a placeholder, just making sure.

heh heh. I wonder how many other things look weird to everyone else but seem normal to "us" hmmmm. /me begins to inspect my toes and belly button . . . . this might be a while.

YEah . . .so, screen shots.
    They sure are pretty

I think the thumbs look a *little* long, but I also do not care.  How much time are you spending on running around with a mine in your hands, anyways?

Apparantly if you are MonsE, it takes you a while to find <i>just the right</i> spot.  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

I did and I even played with you for awhile.  (Jediyoshi was also there).

Back on topic: I can't wait for this mod. SI and TFC will help hold me off from the NS forums  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

@MonsieurE hmm.. yes if the shield is blue, then everything is ok, i can only say something about that what i see.
OK, your right, the tripmine dont look unprofesional, but personaly i dont like it, just because, it looks like.. a box, a little bit mire SCIFI would be good..
The L2 first person model is not too good, because the level one model is just great, you know? they dont fit together...

(this is not a critic on you or on this MOD, also if the models stay so, i will be one of the first that download this mod!&#33<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
