I mean couldn't, say Iran or Canada or Norway, declare that people are being oppressed in USA and start operation "USA freedom" and so forth. Attack USA without declaration of war because you don't need one if you are just freeing some people from a horrible dictator(Bush in this case).
That's what I'm wondering. Where goes the line of oppression?

"waves to the american from the top of a mountain in switzerland"
hehe *g*, well, i always said it, bush will take the USA down, but well well, you voted for him, its your problem. But im shure Mr. Evil will come very fast to us and close that topic because were nopt allowed to talk about american politics and.. yea well, how great bush is.. ;-) But im shure Mr. Evil can explain us why "the Matrix" is great for america and the security of everyone that lives there.

I am from Norway and declare that USA is oppressing its people. I'll start operation "Frihetens undulat!" any time soon.
But on a more serious note: I see the sad comedy of the paranoid US every day in the media. "Patriot" has become the word of the brainwashed, and I've got a disgust for the use of flags in every possible occation. Operation "enduring freedom" is a cliché (And I won't even mention freedom fries. Oh, bugger.), and Total Information Awareness on top of it all just makes the comedy complete.
Who would not laugh?
Then there is "Be proud of your country!". Sure, be that. But that does not make every political action right. "There must be a good reason..." is also the argument of the naïve.
The most terrifying part of it all is that US got such a influence over the rest of the world, that whatever happens over the atlantic from here will have consequences for us, in one or another way. Yes, that scares me.

well spoken, i cannot see flags any more, even our own swiss flag is a problem for me. Shure, be proud to be in your country but just because someone says the he is it to it doesent mean that everything hes doing is right... I wont make any comparisaion here, but a long time ago.. in a european country there was also someone that said that he is a patriot and he loves hes country.. we all know what happend. But well, i dont mind if the american have things like "the Matrix" or this funny patriotic act (hey, its theyr choice), as long as they dont come tu us europeans with it
MATRIX (incidentally I hate contrived acronyms) is just a system consolidating a load of info enforcement agencies could get if they wanted anyway. I'm I missing something here ?
For those of you waving to americans from canada, or americans thinking of moving to canada, do know that canada long had such a database. It contained more entries than living canadian citizens (they dont take you out even if you died), and has over 2000 items per entry (they have over 2000 piece of info about you).
You think the Matrix is scary? Welcome to Canada!

Im confused why are people that are worried about thier first amendment leaving the US for nations where certian channels get banned such as NASA tv, or where if you say something that is against what most people believe about the holocaust you go to jail for, "incitement to hatred"?
