Pixel Problem With Game Sprays

<div class="IPBDescription">In-game sprays too bluured/pixelated</div> Been working photoshop a lot more than usual recently, making some sigs and avatars for other forums and such, but also for sprays for NS and TFC. I've run into a problem recently that I can't seem to solve, so if you have an answer, it would be a great help.

The problem is, if I take a normal size image and try to resize it to spray-acceptable sizes (112 x 80, 64 x 64, etc etc), the image becomes very pixelated (as it should), but it remains pixelated/blurred when srayed in game. I tried getting thumbnails of an image to see how an already reduced size image would work, but it ends up being the same anyway, and I tried increasing the DPI, but then I realized that its being measured in pixels. This is irritating me because I've seen other sprays in game that look as they should, clear and acceptably crisp. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the BEST size to have your finished product in is 128x64, they come out great ingame, or 64x128, or 256x32 i've heard? but.....yeah, heh
