The magazines in the Skorpions in the first Matrix (I haven't seen the second one, so don't spoil it for me! <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->) are MP5 magazines.

I think the Desert Eagle has interchangable parts so you could change caliber sizes, provided you have the right parts.

And action movies are not known for realism, hence Action Half-Life.

'Cept the Brothers ( Andy & Larry) wanted all the details right on. And they probably are using .357 rounds, and Baby Eagle's aren't really THAT much of a difference. My friend's friend owns one.

And yet you can notice that Neo's 9mm SMGs in the lobby scene drop .223 cartridges. Hmmm... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

The "M4A1"'s the militaries used in the first one seemed rather long to me. I'd rather call em M16A2's <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Cept someone pointed out that at one point a version of that weapon was put out that fired 7.62 mm rounds.

    Still doesn't make it a .223

Another thing is when your looking up at the helicopter in the first movie the spent round are obviously crimped blanks.

When Agent Smith shoots Neo you see a proper case hitting the ground. Then you see him fire from above and you can see he uses crimped-end blanks - not smooth like real bullets.

Okay, I watched the orginal again last night. The rifles in the lobby scene are defininatly some kind of M16. Might be an M16A1, as it looks as though they are not firing semi-auto. It also just doesn't look much like an M16A2.

As for the helicopter, they call it a "B2-12." Googling that. . . yeah, it's a real helicopter. I don't know the exact specification of the particular cannon used, but it's probably not the 20mm vulcan cannon (that's used in F14s, etc.). I noticed one odd thing - cannons of that sort don't use linked ammunition, although in the first "falling cases" shot, you see links as well as cases being ejected. In the second, you only see cases. Er. . .

As for the G36 argument, let me elaborate. HK makes three different kinds of G36. The first is the orginal, full size G36, which is prett large. The second is the G36K, a carbine G36. The final is a very small version, dubbed the G36 compact. Go check their site for more detail if you want them.

All the details are obviously not "dead-on." The UMP45 used in Reloaded fires waaaaay more than 25 times, and he never reloads.

Anyhoo, enough about the guns, does anyone know anything about some of the melee weapons used in the balcony scene in Reloaded?

the agents use cor-bon desert eagles. these are chambered for either .440 or .50 (ae)

have you ever seen an agent take cover and reload? they don't do it. so who says they need to reload? it's *THEIR* matrix.

as to my other findings, i've yet to watch the original again. i never bought it. i'll watch it, and check on the TMP (or m-11) thing.

they didn't want all the details right on. they used "badass" shells for the skorpion, as i said before. don't you read prior posts??? i already said that the skorpions are .32 acp or 7.65 browning. those are PISTOL, repeat *PISTOL* length rounds.

maybe someone told you they fire 7.62s, but they're not 7.62 x 39 soviet rifle rounds. also, if they were, they'd need to expand a hell of a lot out of the smallass (and non-standard) magazines. they're 7.65 x (insert other dimension if you know it)

edit: also, on the balcony, they have a bigass club that neo uses. he crushes the asian guy (or uglyass girl) with it. i mean, i thought that was a really, really ugly chick until someone told me otherwise. wow. anyway, the club. i think the only person who could look up all the melee weapons would be someone with a hi-def TV (or monitor), the reloaded dvd or vcd (if you have it, f*ck you for pirating a cool movie), and good weapons knowledge. i mean, how do you know if it's the "beijing variety of sai" or some crap like that? otherwise we can just say, oh there was a sai, a long club thing, a sword & shield... etc. you can elaborate on the sword.. but how far will you go? give the actual measurements of the sword?

Car scene in Reloaded - an agent reloads his desert eagle in a police car before deciding to ram Trinity's car side-on.

About weapons? I suspect we have more than a few Americans here who probably physically handle these kinds of things. I have to go on computer games and what other people online tell me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Especially when they point out "goofs" in films. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

To finalize my point about the G36, here are some pictures and statistics:

Edit: Here's a pic of the AG36 grenade launcher mounted on to a G36K. I suppose it would be possible to mount it on to a G36 Compact, but it would like quite. . . odd.

In the scene in Realoded where Neo stops all the bullets he is shot at by

    (From front to back)
    Uzi (full size)
Thompson with a 50 round drum (tommygun)
Colt Carabine (9mm Colt Commando (I think. Its not an M4)
    MP5k
G36k (with an AG36 nade launcher)
    MP5A1 (A1 = No buttstock)

The Guns used by the guards in the lobby shootout in the first film were M16A1s and (I think) SPAS 12s with solid stocks.

Sorry to throw a blanket on your bonfire but the guns Mouse uses in the first film are neither tommyguns nor heavily modified anythings nor invented.

They're Manville Gas Gun 12's ordinarily used for riot contorl but could technically be chambered with anything....
