it would be cool if the person being digested, when using voice comm had an orangish colored name that says they are talking instead of standard yellow...

So, once you're eaten it's 30 seconds of red stomach with nothing else to do? I can see how that might get irritating.

You get to hear the battle raging around you. People have complained some but, A. the onos doesn't eat everybody. It's not something that's constantly happening. B. You can just get up and stretch. Just think of it as a little break in what otherwise is a rather serious attack on your senses. Having played 1.04 once (again) a couple of weeks ago, I can say that 2.0 is a lot more intense. You'll want to stretch.

[edit: clarified.]

What is "Gun Kata?"
• FrikkFrikk Join Date: 2002-11-01 Member: 3164Members, Constellation
It's from the movie Equilibrium. Gun Kata

• MajinMajin Join Date: 2003-05-29 Member: 16829Members, Constellation
After reading about Gun Kata
I think it would work against Kharaa, it would need some fine tuning but I think a Gun Kata master of the highest Rank could predict the Kharaa movements and actions.
He would crap his pants once an Onos showed up, but Skulks, Gorges and Lerks would be no problem form a Gun Kata Master

So I guess my only question is how hard is NS 2.0 going to kick my hairy arse?

Probably pretty damn hard.

If a marine is in Onos,

1) can the commander see him on his screen ?

2) I hope commander health droping has been blocked too for that marine !

3) his weapons are dropped on the floor just before being swallowed ?

4) is there a limit of how many marines he can eat while digesting one ?

5) any visual/soundable clues for other marines to see an onos with swallowed marine just after being eaten ?

6) if onos is killed by explosions (can they be hurt by mines ?), is digesting marine health the same as when he was in stomach prior to onos's death (meaning not droped down even more) ? An Onos dying from shooting shouldn't degrade marine's health even more. An explosion doing this would be more true to life as the marine might have suffered from the explosion too.

7) can onos devour an alien to gain additional health/ressource ?

1) can the commander see him on his screen ?

Don't think so. Not positive though.

2) I hope commander health droping has been blocked too for that marine !

You can't pick up health if you’re being eaten.

3) his weapons are dropped on the floor just before being swallowed ?

You can rescue him(kill the onos before it finishes the digestion), and if you rescue the marine then he comes out with his weapons. So no.

4) is there a limit of how many marines he can eat while digesting one ?

1 marine at a time.

5) any visual/soundable clues for other marines to see an onos with swallowed marine just after being eaten ?

You hear some sort of a digestion sound coming from the marine. That and your teammate yelling at you to kill the onos.

Onos can be hurt by mines (why wouldn't they?). You come out of the onos hurt, I don't really understand the rest of the question. Sorry.

7) can onos devour an alien to gain additional health/ressource ?

Nope.

I believe the rest of his question was:

Does the mine damage that affected the Onos also affect the Marine inside?

3 things

1. when you keep the body that you had when the game ended, dont forget to make the egg beable to walk or move and such (when you die when you were gestating and the game ends, it would suck no being able to move)

2. when devored, can the marein shoot at the onos on the inside when he is being devourd, or knife...

3. teh reason i started to play was becuase of the long gmaes, the best games are th one that last for 3 hours (omg that was so much fun) a 5-10 min game would not be long enough for me.i think that 30 -60 min game is a great game

@Abandon01: Except for your third question everything has been discussed in this thread already I will also miss these evening filling games where both teams go through highs and lows. But that is history in a few days They say: Epic games still possible, but what does that mean?
2nd question: no, you can't freakin knife the onos to steal it the health points it just got from devouring you. That would suck for the Onos wouldn't it?
1st question: Well... just think about it. Wouldn't the playtesters already scream on Flayra to be able to walk? My guess was you will simply be the alien you were before the gestate phase, or to become a more impressive watchout your gestation will finish when the game ends.

EDIT: Norn get workin' or we will stuff you into a penguin costume, harhar.

Isn't this already the case in 1.04???

Of course, I've seen eggs jumping around like skulks in the actual game, which I'm sure was just some weird model glitch.
• NerdIIINerdIII Join Date: 2003-04-05 Member: 15230Members
Yes... we are talking about the technology of the future where every alien keeps it's abilities like flying and wallclimbing. And some fear the the egg has er... very *restricted* abilities

I think by increasing the cost for fade from 54 to 75 will make the game uneven. I think marnines will have the advantage now since it'll cost more to get fade. Plus it takes forever to get that many resources.
• FrikkFrikk Join Date: 2002-11-01 Member: 3164Members, Constellation
The fade cost 50. Resource flow is different also. Where did you get that info?

Actually that shots pre 1.0. It's from waaaaaaay back in the day before they released. The nuke was taken out because it was massively unbalanced. Lastly, that's actually a couple of nades going off, not the nuke. From what I've heard the nuke just made your screen go white and everything died.
