<div class="IPBDescription">Street on Iraqi POWS</div> I was watching CNN. They had a little news snippet on this subject this afternoon.

One of the interrigation methods used by the US on Iraqi POWS is to make them listen to loud Metal rock music, and songs by Barney the Purple Dinosaur and Sesame Street for up to 23 hours at a time. According to them, listening to the rock music makes you "break down" to interregations and the Barney musc like that "I love you, You love me" song just is so annoying they POWS will willingly answer the qeustions rather then have to be subjected to more of it.

Lolz I guess there is a reason to keep that dumb dinosaur around after all.

I can just imagine this somewhere over in the middle east....

POW : NO You will never get me to talk NEVER
US: Hmm Riiiight we'll see about that, oh believe me we have ways of making you talk.
POW: Never! GO Stuff IT!
US: *Sigh ookee dokie....

"I love you, You love me........"
7 hours later
POW: OMG ILL TALK I GIVE UP! I GIVE UP AHH JUST TURN IT OFF FOR THE LOVE OF..."
US: Works every time <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Another one they like to do is play sounds from slaughter houses e.g. pigs, chickens, cows being slaughtered for long periods of time. Makes you doubt you own sanity.

isn't torture illegal now? Some sort of human rights convention? Oh well, it's not like the US follows internation policy anyways. GG US, way to keep the world divided.

Don't they like Bert from Sesame Street though? After 9/11, some guy posted him next with Osama.

    <img src='http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/graphics/osama_bert.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
    - <i>The Sesame Street character Bert made his way into a recent pro-Osama bin Laden protest in Bangladesh. Anti-American protesters apparently lifted this parody image off the Internet and plastered it on a sign as part of a collage of bin Laden photos. </i>

I was suprised as heck to find out it wasn't a hoax.

They are not POW:s . They are illegal soldiers so apparently they don't even have any human rights. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'm thinking about invading usa, kidnap anyone who puts up a fight and then torture them. Who is with me?

I saw an article about this in a Swedish newspaper so if it's a hoax then it's a wellspread one.

And to all who thinks this is fun, fgs get some empathy.

Interesting to note, while prepping the country for the war, the US govt. spread reports of former Iraqi prisoners who were forced to live in a completely red cell - walls, furniture, light, everything bright red. There, they had few problems identifying it as psychological torture.

See, thats why kids raised on Barney are all messed up....

All the normal people were raised on Transformers (and not the crappy new show either (Armada))

Edit: I was just watching MTV2, and a news update said the same thing as this thread, and said using songs like Metallicas' "Enter Sandman" and Drowning Pools' "Bodies", as well as Barney

I can't imagine that this would be effective in the least. Anyone with a three year old kid has probably had to put up with worse.

THey said most Iraqis haven't heard Metal or Barney/Sesame street before, so It is strange, loud, and repetitive!

Plus, imagine hearing real loud Metal for (seemingly) 24/7. Believe me, it'd get to your nerves.

Torture has been proving again and again to provide false information, because at some point the prisoner will crack and spout off anything to get out of the situation.

Besides we've been using that crap for years now, what's it called? Sodium-something-or-other, truth syrome formula. It works so I'd go on a limb and say any reports on interegation methods are just for PR.

I think you could put up with the metal but I imagine it's played real loud and around the clock so you can't sleep.

On the illegal soldiers: so now everyone living in USA know that if you defend your home with your firearm from invaders you are illegal combatant and therefor you have no human rights. Right?

    b) I don't want to offend anyone, sorry if I do
    c) Im not sure if this is true and I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't but...

...isn't it legal to shoot a black man closing your door in some state? Probably just BS but I read this somewhere(maybe dumblaws.com) and it's an old law that still stands.

Edit: and this would be in United States of America. Forgot to add the name of the country <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It's legal in a lot of states to shoot someone who is on your property against your will/unlawfully, I think this would include your porch. However I know in California it's legal to discharge a defensive round when you or a family member is threatened, so technically if the blackman was kidnapping your daughter and he shut the door to try to get away from you It would be legal to shoot him here too. I'm sure that's not what you meant though heh.

Not really, I think it was only if the person is black. Well, doesn't matter.

You can shoot someone on your property? Oh man, I must say not very human-friendly.

Kids stealing appels + old grumpy man with a shotgun = uh, oh
