OK ive got milkshape but ive tryed to start making a gun but it looks ok on the side kinda like

but from the top it looks like a house with a part coming out can someone tell me how to alter the points
from the top or the frount i tryed clicking on the points and moving them but it dosent work

    Won't let you? Hit print screen on the top right of your keyboard, open ms paint and press Ctrl+V. Then crop out the unimportant bits for fast loading and save as a .jpg. Then you can post here and tell us what you really mean.

    It sounds to me like your model is just huge sideways. Try using the "Scale" button on the right hand side of milkshape, make the Z co-ords alot smaller.

    yeah, what NecromanZer said, from the top-down view the front of the huge is just very long side-ways, so stay in the top-down view and resize it to be thinner <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Um? It means, open your model, press print screen, press paste in MS PAINT, upload the screenshot as an attachment so we can stop guessing about ascii. If you spent as much time attempting to model as you do writing stupid pictures to us, you might get something done.

    Print screen key is located above the insert key, and to the right of the F12 key.

    And please I suggest if you want to learn basic modelling like you are talking about - read the help files included with Milkshape 3d. This forum isn't for discussing how to resize boxes, its for the discussion, releasing and criticism of Natural Selection models. And please, post all your thoughts in one post, not three. If you have something to add, click the Edit button.

    Print screen takes a screenshot of whatever is on the screen and loads it into the clipboard. After you have pressed print screen, go into Ms Paint and press Paste to take the screenshot out of the clipboard and onto the screen. voila.

    So, a Fire Warrior Pulse Rifle.

    Right. Go to Milkshape. Press Print Screen. NOTHING will happen.

    From there, load up Paint (Start > Accessories > Paint) and press Edit > Paste. You should end up with a dump of your screen. Save that file as a Jpeg, if you can please chop it down to a reasonable size (the image in the first place) and use the various tools on the forum to post the image, so we can look at it & work out what's happening.

    Also, if you're new, aim low. Work up. Start with something nice & simple, go on from there. I personally have all the modelling skills of a dyslexic newt, but I know NOT to start with something over my ability.

    HOW TO TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR WORK, SO WE MAY VIEW IT AND UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE RAMBLING ON ABOUT

    Do you understand this?

    We are not telling you how to make your model thinner, but it sounds to me (from what i can understand) you should simply use the Scale tool in milkshape to resize the model.

    They'll probably just crash into other people like them. Until then, buy a Segway and stay off the road.

    And just open up the help file, and look for "scaling." You want to "scale" (very tricky term, isn't it?) along the Z AXIS. I don't use milkshape, so I can't help you more.
