If we lived in the matrix, there still lies the question of where did life (and anything else) come from. Why we breathe and rocks do not. Why do we show that we're intelligent and animals don't.
We could cease to exist right now and it wouldn't make a difference. Everything came out of nothing, so everything must be nothing else than nothing, so nothing is really possible in this world.
(Of course, when the big boom happened, I was already 17 yrs old, and now I am 15 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Another impossiblity)
... What did I just say??? Guess I lost when I played aliens... IMPOSSIBLE
Imagine the sims, we are controlled like that.
Then the people controlling us, are controlled by people controlling them via the sims, and so fourth.
I really need one.
But then, where does our simulators come from? Are they simulations too?

***SPOILER (and I mean it)***
The movie is focused on a character that develops virtual reality simulations people can enter and live as one of the persons in that simulation. While the "player" is not logged in the simulation continues as if all the characters had normal lives of their own. Imagine playing an MMORPG, only that your character continues his everyday life while you are not playing.
Now the point of the whole movie is that the main charactre finds out that he himself is living in a simulation which other people enter at will, even taking over himself as a character.
There is quite more to the plot and it quite brilliant I must say.
Oh, should I add that the movie contains the idea, that if you are killed while inside your character your own personality is destroyed and the personality of your character transcends the simulation and inhabits your physical body, effectivly leaving the simulation.
So, if you want to get out, just wait till you are taken over by your player and hope that he dies.

For example take a look at all those other poster-bots, their AI sucks big time.
