All those do is assume hl2 will be out. They dont say anything about hl 2. I hope its not about hl2 just to see how you all react when your wrong because you go around assuming things and then treat it as fact. Sure it could be hl2, but it might not. These assumptions are so annoying. Those 2 articles do nothing but assume.
Dont even bring up the stupid crowbar picture. A picture says 1000 words come to mind.

Half-Life 2 rumors are starting to fly around, thanks to some nutty print magazines. People still read those? Anyways, it’s true: there will be some info on Half-Life 2 coming your way in less than a month. Finally.
It’s already pretty much public knowledge that HL2 is running on Valve’s new internally designed engine, so this will be our first peek at it. I think people will be surprised by the projected release date, though. I sure was...

I trust nothing but what comes from valves own mouth, not, as you put it, some nutty magazine. Magazines mean nothing. Their sources are weak. The knowledge they hold can be changed upon a moments notice. I've seen many games in magazines that got canceled or just disappeared from site. So magazine mean nothing to me. Come grab me when valve posts something on their site. OH WAIT. They did that for TF2. Isnt it amazing how thats not even out. Man who would have thought. /me smacks hand off head.
Todays lesson, any info about valve releasing a game means absolutly nothing. They can tell you all the fancy abilities of the engine they want. The fact is until its in stores hl2 is a myth. Just as TF2 is.
Half-Life:2 is NOT a myth but rather actually a real developing project; however -- it will not be finished in the time alotted that people think "OMG in 3 months" no...it will take at least another year. It is intended to showcase around E3 next month as a tech preview of the new engine and portions of the game. kthx
Often times products don't go from one major version to another. Many software products contain a version schema set by the product managers or developers. Normally, it's major.minor.patch E.G (1.0.4) where 1x is the build, 0 is the minor revision and 4 is the patch status #.

TF2, introduced in E3 of 99
my point here, hearing about the game is nothing.
