    The point is...we need a status update. Need more then just a hydra to get the starcraft nostalgia going.

    Yes sir. Right away sir. Whatever you say sir.

    Don't bug me, it'll get done when it gets done.

    Sheesh, so angry! Was merely bumping the thread up so that no one would forget about the gun, and that wasn't really an update either...I was looking more for an X% done on X thing.

    Hehe... We were just worried that you might of died an we would lose a beautiful starcraft weapon.

    My mind is occupied with other things at the moment. It's so easy to just sit there for hours watching nothing happen with the war. I get sucked into the news, which leaves me sitting there waiting for something.
    Progress is coming slow, but progress is being made. I've redesigned some parts of the gun, made them smoother, fixed some errors I found, etc...I want to fix up my mesh, because my modelling ability has improved since I started this thing.
    I'm in no rush to release this thing. I haven't played NS in a month, but that's not going to deter me from finishing this thing. But even then, I'd still like a full marine model before I finish this thing.

    Keep up the work, time will pay off and make it secksy (yes secksy).
    Probably after the Guass rifle, some modelers should attempt at the C-10 as a shotgun *wink*<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hmm, I was playing a Starcraft Mod last night and it came to mind that instead of seeing a Terran Marine for LA that it should be a Ghost instead and the Terran Marine could be the HA replacement. I wish I could model, but attb (at the time being..just made it up now =X ) I dont have enough cash to buy it (a couple of upcoming raves are going to leave me broke).

    I tried modeling once for CS, but I don't have anything like Photoshop Pro and animating is a pain. I just want to at least learn how to convert and hack. I can kinda hack models, but it's been too long for me to probably remember.

    Until then, keep up the work.
    Pz out

    there is definitely no need to rush. Take your time buddy.
    But as for waiting for a starcraft marine model then release this gun, this is not very necessary.
    God knows when we will have a starcraft marine model. So if you are done with the gun, please just release it, don't wait for a starcraft marine model.
    thank you and keep up the good work.

    Make it for both, but be sure to put in HA arms. Modelers forget to do that at times hehe.

    OMG, a starcraft marine model!!!
    Jamil, u rule.
    A small suggestion, there should be a triangluar thing in teh front of the calf.
    Also, on the back of the calf, it should be a little bit bulkier.
    Nice work, keep it up <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Gah. I've switched my modelling style from super high poly to pretty low poly. Which do you guys prefer? High poly is actually easier, but takes more time.
  • JamilJamil Join Date: 2002-11-02 Member: 4829Members
    edited March 2003
    I should elaborate. The low poly stuff has sharper edges, and isn't nearly as appealing. High poly, and particularly the way I was doing it was going to be way up there in the polycount. I'm working on the chest plate now, you can see the low poly version there. You guys want a nice round chest plate, or one with some pretty sharp edges? Keep polycount in mind, legs are 1k+ polys alone. The chest plate right now is about 150 polys.

    Edit:

    Nut container is low poly as well <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
