Mine handle is just a different spelling of my middle name. The real spelling is "Beauxzoe" or “Beaux Zoë”, its French. Yah you can thank dear old dad for that one, apparently he ran down stares and named me before he talked to my mom. So any intresting stories about how your NS handle originated?

I used to be called "GG Allin's Evile Twin!" but no one got the reference, so I thought to myself: what name could I pick that says "not only am I 1337, but I don't have a life to get in teh way of my internet jokes", after that, a simple play on words, and I had a memorable handle with endless comedic possibilities.

Humbaba. Search for "The Epic of Gilgamesh" on google. Long story short, hes the villain figure of a Babylonian reminiscent of Hercules. I had a little period in 4th grade where I really got into the whole babylonian history thing. Made my screenname then and because Gilgamesh and Enkidu in all their memorable forms were taken, Humbaba. Roughly translated, it means "Hugeness". My avatar is of a piece of Syrian art representing Humbaba. Also spelled "Huwawa".

To be quite honest, I'm not sure where I came up with my online name. And yes, I know what the definition of 'sycophant' is, and I assure you I don't fit that definition at all. I used to be the madHatter, until I started playing Starcraft, when that name was taken, times a bajillion. I moved on to another variant of that until I reached College. I got my first PC and now I go by what I called myself in LAN games of Counterstrike, |Speed 2| Dave. Speed being the residence hall I live in, 2 being the floor, Dave being my name.

I might switch it to |Speed 2| Naked, but that's another story, for another time.

My first REALY online game was The Realm (way old mmorpg from sierra)
I was a big fan of the Dragonlance books, specialy Tanis 1/2Elven
Wanted an actualy original name. Started sounding off sounds in my head, (typing them as I went) hit Thansal, and stuck with it
this is also the way I come up with any of my names, I also use:
Than, Thans, Thragnar, Thael (Tha-el, kinda like superman's real name), Thran etc
I use these when I am tooling around with charachter generation in RPGs (I love drawing up char Ideas, and so I try and match the name to the person, sorta)

Mine came from my CS (2 years ago) days. I used to use Roadkill untill too many people in ClanBase had the same nick. I needed a new nick so I just thought of Zero, from that I got Tsero, and one thing led to another and finally= Zeebra = seepra (in finnish) = tseepra

Heh, i have this thing about constantly attacking pretty much the whole time in any HL mod... Feyd - Fits in perfectly to the above. Feyd-Rutha Harkonen. The nephew and heir to the Baron Vladimir Harkonen (Dune). Superb knife/pit fighter, mentat (for those of you who havent read the books, a human calculator/encyclapedia/tactician/tape recorder/all around genius) and otherwise ruthless leader. Sadly was killed by Mua'dib.

Well, I used to play Team Fortress Classic a lot, and I was fond of the engineer class, (Engy is short for engineer) so logically I started using the name in Diablo 2. Well I tried to sign up for a BattleNet account a month after it started so every combination of Tiger, White, Black, and Night were taken. I wanted to get started on my necro, so I try Engy, and that's a no go, so I decide to tack on some random prefix, and thus my name, which eventually became standard for all games I play online. I'm pretty glad I had to change it because Tiger was a pretty common and lame name, and my current name is pretty unique. Although just about all the time people glance at my name and think RandomEnergy because Engy isn't a word. But I don't mind, since that sounds cool too.

Flatline - just picked it out of thin air one day after I got tired of "Stryker" (from a Michael Crichton novel). Turns out that it's also a big part of William Gibson's Neuromancer and a paintball company, because I get asked about one or the other at least once in every 2-3 games I play.

I have the [UTD] tag because Flatline was already registered on the boards when I signed up. It's not a clan; it's my school's initials (The University of Texas at Dallas). In game I still use the tag because it helps people connect me w/ the boards, but if you go to my site (http://www.flatline-server.com) or anywhere else, it's just Flatline.

"Samwise" is both an obvious ripoff from Tolkien, which I'm a big fan of (and have been since before anyone even knew about the LotR movies - READ A BOOK!), and an obvious derivation of my real name, which is Sam. Nothing terribly original about it. I was first addressed as "Samwise" in the year 1996 in a yearbook signing, shortly after I'd read LotR for the first time. It stuck to me from then on, and people occasionally even address me as Samwise IRL because I've so consistently attached this name to everything I do.

Well in game I'm [JSSDF]Venmoch

The Venmoch bit came from a confused jumbling up of Venom and somehow m and o were switched and ch was added on the end (And if you can understand this I'll give you nothing! It was the name for my catachan Imperial Guard Commander and then I used it!)

The [JSSDF] Was my old clan that fell through. (And I'm sure Silver Fox may get it's origin!) I kept the tag because it looks cool!
