On the server I play on if we have a decent comm we NEVER send out a HA group without giving at least one guy a gl. I've personally just started using them and I think I'm starting to get the hang of hitting aliens directly with it. And as of 1.04 final it IS 200 damage.
With so much information regarding V 1.1 coming out, I'm almost afraid for it all. What if my baby goes under serius changes? What if it's not even THERE?
Until then, all the mentioned tactics stand. They are of course somewhat less pressing if this 90 damage issue is true, but if and when it returns to 200, well...alls the better.
I had a com like Deckards. I can't get one of thise things to save my life, either on a pub becuase no one trusts them, OR on a clan sever, becuase not being part of that clan automaticly makes you a lesser human.
What? No I said our comm never sends us out WITHOUT one, as in we always have at least one guy with a grenade launcher. We use them all the time on the server I play on, sometimes we even give them to lone jetpackers, assuming they are the best damn flyers there. A grenade guy firing into the fray of a bunch of marines is an awesome way to keep skulks out of the tightly packed rhine group, and the sound of grenades hiting the floor is enough to make anything short of an onos think twice about coming near you.
Oh, right. Sorry, I mistook that. I wouldn't mind the name of that server. It'd be cool to play on a sever with a Comm that so belived in alternative weaponry. More comms taking chances with weapons like these will give me more to write about.
I play on Hastezone almost all the time. It's got pretty good regulars, but we disabled cheating-death so the occasional "noob" can still sneak in. We've got some kickass commanders though.
Yet another reason that, having found a few alterable variables(sp sp?) in the help file, any server /I/ run will have at least a 3 minute life on dropped weapons.
Now If we can only get a sort of ammo pick up over another guys dropped gun...
As comm i have never seriously given out a g launcher expecting it to make a difference. There was this one time where i had locked down aliens mainhive with mines and i had soo much res coming in ever SINGLE one of my marines had a g launcher. It was actually really funny. There was also a time where i built 30 sieges. The hive Died in about 2 shots. Lol and every alien inside the hive died.
