But it seems like it might work
I know it's hard to get marines to obey on pubs, but I'd like to see a commander split up his forces into 2-3 groups - main force, as usual, defense as usual, and roamers, not usual. On larger games I'd love to see two or three marines, one with a welder, moving about the map specifically to find gorges and nozzles, kill the gorge, and weld the nozzle while the other marine(s) cover. This would solve the problem of nozzles taking too long to bulid, and if you get only one, you've still only lost a rp welder vs. a 13 rp gorge and 22 rp nozzle, plus lost income. Rambo's are everywhere, if you can get them to stick together, this would be a brilliant way to make the aliens hurt a bit. The slower they get that second hive up, the longer you have to lock it down yourself. A fringe benefit would be the premptive sealing of anything and everything that can be welded before the aliens can make use of them.
If anyone can offer any criticism or comments on this plan, or anecdotes on having tried it, they'd be appreciated (and if you phrase it more intelligently than "j00r an idjieat" it'll be even more appreciated )

One tactic I read was where the commander would scan the map with the observatory and look specifically for the gorges and send a man or so out after him. How can the aliens get better if they keep losing the res?
