well since i dont think bulls have them (sorry if i'm being ignorant. I don't really know I just presumes) and onos are usually addressed as cows....

and seeing as cows have a huge nipple gathering under their belly....

bulls have them, they just don't have that freaky single breast with a ton of nipples known as an udder

They're too spikey to be nipples, and a Onos wouldn't need them either. [New feature : Skulks, Gorges, and Lerks can feed off an Onos for HP. While feeding, the alien(s) will hang off and drag along the floor for a ride.]

Anyway, Realisticly, it looks like a defense for the Onos' soft side, or a way for the Onos to inflict damage when trampling down something.
