ideas to encourage group play and discourage going alone

I've seen multiple times veterans trying to make their rookie players to work in groups
instead of running alone. Some marine commanders even warn: "no meds if you go alone".
So I was thinking along those lines and was wondering does it make sense
to EXPLICITLY reward group play and penalize players who prefer to run alone ?
(I am not sure if I would support this myself but wanted to bring it up anyway...)
Examples:
- players slowly lose health unless they are in a group.
- a group gets some small bonus ability which individual players don't have
(like players in a group can hear enemy footsteps from farther away)
- etc, etc

Rookies shouldnt go alone, because they just die.
Good players can go alone and can make a difference.
There is already a group bonus:
-You cover each other.
-You kill enemies faster.
-You have a bigger range of hearing potential enemy sounds (and can communicate those to your nearby teammates)
-You can weld eachother to restore Armor.
-You can use a dropped weapon of a dead Marine
Teamwork doesn't mean everyone should stick together, it means everyone should do what's important for the common goal or the current strategy.
Lol if he really did that I would vote to eject him.
I've seen that several times on US Servers by now. Ignoring the fact, that strong players can be far more effective alone.
