Series of bugs make the game completely unplayable

I've been playing the game for a few weeks now, and it's all been amazing. However, a few days ago, I load my game and there's a bunch of issues.

Instead of standing by the control wheel in my Cyclops like expected, my character is "swimming" inside the sub.

When I try to exit the cyclops via my seamoth, the little sub exits the cyclops, immediately re-docks with the cyclops, and my controls lock up.

When I try to cycle through my inventory, I can't actually use any of the items. However, they all "appear" in my hand. Like, my character is holding the flashlight and seaglide both in the right hand.

Finally, whenever I hit the escape button to bring up the menu, the menu comes up and gets stuck. I can't select any buttons, and I can't close the menu.

I've deleted my save files and started new games, and the problems persist. I've uninstalled the game twice and re-installed, and they're still there.

I'm at my wits end. This game is spectacular, but it's suddenly become unplayable. Can anyone help me? I've playing the steam version without VR using mouse and keyboard (no controller).

Verify your game file integrity in Steam.

I've verified, repeatedly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, repeatedly. Nothing seems to fix this.

Can you post an output_log.txt and dxdiag info? See my signature, at the end of the first line, "Useful info to post with error reports"

Your debug log is full of what looks to be about a hundred or so FMOD audio device initialization errors. Try installing the latest sound card drivers, or rolling back to a previous one. Try re-installing them. Someone also said a while back that they fixed an issue by removing their HDMI audio driver and letting Windows re-install it on reboot.

I saved near an unloaded wreck with my prawn suit on and the ship didn’t load in after this but I thought it wouldn’t matter so I got off and came back the next day. Now I’m stuck inside of one of the walls of the wreck I saved near. I have tried to get out of the prawn suit but that wouldn’t work it says failed spawn nearby. I have also tried to use the developer option in the menu to teleport me anywhere and nowhere will work. I currently cannot play the game on that world since I am stuck there and do not know what else I can do or if I just cannot get my world back.

    I play on an Xbox.

    Pleease help me

@HEEELP_MEEEE Probably your only hope is to try to load up and try to move back while the game is loading, so that as soon as is possible, you move backwards, before terrain loads. If not, try going freecam and going to places far away so that your original place unloads, then exiting freecam and moving back as fast as possible before everything loads, is your only hope, as far as I know.

XB1 commands are able to be directly typed (if they aren't in the developer menu or don't work for some reason) by hitting LB + A + RB to open the text box console.

So I if I disable the audio driver, it seems like the game works, but then my computer is totally unable to play any sort of audio (subnautica, youtube, anything). When the driver re-installs, then subnautica is back to the same problems.

What audio device are you using, and what motherboard model (or if your computer is a prebuilt like a Dell or HP or Acer etc, then what is that model #)?

You probably need new audio drivers from the manufacturer. From your dxdiag, you need to go below and follow this sequence if installing from scratch [Please follow below sequence to install driver. 1. Chipset, 2. Intel VGA, 3. nVidia VGA, 4. Audio, 5. LAN, 6. Card Reader 7. WLAN, 8. BT, 9. Touchpad, 10. ME, 11. Radio Switch, 12. Others]

    https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GP72-6QF-Leopard-Pro.html#down-driver&Win10 64

Or, if you're only updating the audio, here is a link to the most current from that site (as of 2/21/2018, Audio driver:6.0.1.8172/Nahimic:2.3.21, released 2017-08-0).

I'm using an MSI GP72 Leopard Pro-495 Intel Core i7. Audio is Realtek I believe.

So I need to run the install the first four in that sequence?

Honestly I'd personally install the latest of every driver, to make sure I had the latest (usually Windows does this, but, it's Windows, so...)

if i researched it right. disable the "nahimic sound" software and see if you still have sound thinking it might be a bad sound addon for that laptop. and use the realtek instead :)

That did it! Thank you so much!!!! And thanks to 0x6A7232 for helping me get it at least playable. I was really bummed thinking I'd never get it running again.
