@Kurasu Doesn't the Scanner Room only list entities that are currently in range? So if the GL hasn't spawned, it can't scan for it and it won't be listed? Try putting a Scanner Room right around where one is swimming.

@0x6A7232 I did. I created a scanner room right underneath it, brought a drone up to be right in its face, and then checked the listing. That's how I knew.

I recently built a Scanner Room powered by Solar Panels at the Aurora's engines to test out the theory. It turns out the Reaper Leviathan shows up on the Scanner listings (so long as it's in range). For the next test, I used the PRF portal into the Lost River and built a Scanner Room (powered by a Bioreactor) right where the Ghost Leviathan patrols. Despit my best intentions, it does not show up on the Scanner listing. :-(
I'm kind of sad that one Leviathan is scannable but the other isn't. I mean there's not much reason to scan for either - while the 3D hologram can track movements, there's like a 10-second delay between updates. And the GL is in tight corridors, so there's really no need to track it either. But outside of trying to find Sea Treaders, I don't know of any reason to track or locate "large" creatures in the game. Maybe the SR can get more polish before 1.0 launches to make it more useful.
How else would they materialize out of nothing in The Void? They *are* ghosts, after all!
When GLs were added to the Void, I used INVISIBLE and NODAMAGE cheats to try and scan them for the PDA entry. As it turns out, Ghost Leviathans in the Void are truly ghosts - unlike the RL (who only has a hitbox around its head), the Void GLs have no hitboxes to be scanned... they literally don't exist.
Now maybe it's because just Juvenile GL appear in the normal world, and they haven't fully developed their stealth abilities. But the ones in the Void are more mysterious and far more deadly than "they" would have you believe...

The juvinile in the Lost River is. I will give you that.
The *adults*, on the other hand, are *not*. And they actually have a fairly large pat range. I think bigger than the Reaper, even, though I may need correction on that. Their size may just make an illusion of it.
Either way, having a way to track the Ghosts would be very helpful; while pinpointing them in the Lost River's not exactly a necessity, the Grand Reef, on the other hand, is much more open.
That and I'd love to be able to pinpoint where Warpers are; having a scanner room ID their locations would be a *huge* help, and would also encourage me to try to decide on prioritizing speed in scanning over range. Right now, it's a no-brainer. If, on the other hand, it tracked dangerous creatures, speed scanning vs range scanning would become more important and more difficult to decide ("I could have a HUD ping every two or three seconds to warn me about that wandering warper, or I could see warpers from 500 meters away but only every 10 seconds....")

I assume that means they don’t exist.
You are only imagining it when they do damage to you.

This has a "SCP" - esque feel to it.

Always watch over your shoulder...
