THEROY: The players role on the Aurora

When exploring the Aurora, you receive a message from the PDA before entering the drive core room warning the player not to attempt repairs on the drive core without proper experience. Yet the player goes along anyway. The player also seems to have minimal trouble in repairing other various things (the lifepod, various doors, vehicles). Therefor, I think it's most likely that the player is one of the 85 engineers on the ship.

It's just a theory but I mean since that he was aboard the the aroura and going to help constructing a phase gate im sure he's one of them

I especially like the theory that the player is one of the commandingly officers or a special passenger who got the lifepod to themselves after the blast

Yeah. he's probably the "Chief Maintenance Officer". After you find all the lifepods it says he is the only survivor. Having this name change if a female character is added and chosen would probably prove this.

If he was an engineer, he would be dead because he would have facepalmed so hard when he saw the cyclops that the front of his skull would have been caved in.
