Aw man I can't wait to live forever on a dangerous alien world. You gotta remember while we're having fun the characters thinking in the back of his head. "I am so dead"

... Actually, I imagine you meant that as a joke, but that'd be a really cute way of gathering up and acclimating a 'score' at the end of the game.

People could do repeat runs and try to aim for the LOWEST amount of Alterra Debt.

I was serious, but come to think of it that would increase the replayability of the game, wouldn't it?

For replayability, all we need are achievements, achievements and achievements
    • Underwater Tycoon (create more than 1000 base modules)
    • Captain Nemo (travel 20000 leagues under the sea)
    • Aquaman (never dive with an air tank)
    • Fish are Friends (never kill a creature, not my idea)
    • Duke of Subnautica (find more than 1000 luxury resources)
    • Captain Alterra (ride on the back of a Sea Dragon and tame it)
    • True Survivor (end the game without dying once)
    • War Junkie (build more than 1000 useless torpedos)
    • Blockhead of the Galaxy (find the cure and leave the planet without turning off the QEP)
    • ...

I personally tried diving 20000 leagues...

    That's 111120000 meters.

My record is 9865. (see here

Shocking new diet: escape the clutches of a reaper using the shock module.
CANNON BALL: leap into the sea from above 40 meters.
Deja vu?: correctly enter a passcode on he aurora without picking up a PDA
How do I walk in these?: construct a pair of flippers
Slow down speedy Gonzales!: reach the primary containment facility before the sunbeam is destroyed.
Cool guys don't look: refuse to look at the sunbeams and auroras explosion
Perching the heavens: construct the drill for the prawn suit.

Tryhard survivor: Deactivate the gun early and leave in the sunbeam. (Who knows, this might actually be possible, with the message triggers and all.)

I totally agree with you in that regard  WE NEED MORE ACHIEVEMENTS!

I know our game is the Early Access one, and likely a full retail version will be added to Steam once the bugs and details are worked out - that version will likely have more achievements. But why can't we have more achievements for THIS version? Please devs, add more to the EA version before the game goes live - it would be fun to see who can get a full 100% (not counting the 3/3 piddly ones we have now) before the game launches proper! :)
