For Xbox1 and hopefully PS4 I think split screen would be an amazing feature

now that we know that Subnautica is going to be a multiplayer game, I think that it would be awesome if there was a split screen option when the full version of Xbox1 and hopefully PS4 comes out, it would not affect the story line because it never says that you are the only survivor from the Aruara and it would add to the experience. On the consols I think it would be cool if it was a 1-4 payer game it would also add play ability.

    I'm not sure where you're getting that info, but barring a complete 180 by the developers in the last couple hours, Subnautica isn't and won't be a multiplayer game. Despite the fervent wishing of some people - and stubborn inability to accept reality on their part - there's no multiplayer. It's not on the horizon, it's not "if there's enough interest." It's a hard "no," said by pretty much every member of the development team, and many, many times by @Obraxis and @Flayra.

    Fundamentally speaking, running the version of the engine it's running and the direction code-writing has gone, multiplayer cannot be added to it at this point. The decision was made a long time ago, long enough that it's now effectively locked in stone.

    Sorry, friend, but that argument is dead as a doornail.

    Just the mere thought of the rendering power required to display two perspectives on a... consoles... well... I'll let you do the math on that
