Sqareroom in (outside) the Lost River?

So, since the Scanner Room got updated, i was visiting my base in the Lost River, oddly enough to discover that my scanner was picking up 2 square rooms.
I got curios so i actually started to look for that room, and i actually found it.
I advise to save, before you want to go inside, explore (but Spoiler, there's nothing in there), only to find yourself stuck into it!!
I only explored the bigger one of them, so i dont know, if there is something in the other one, but I highly doubt it.
What do you think its for? Hence the size of the room, it may be a little testing area for larger creatures, or is it just the developers having some fun?
