Alien Containment Re-population Lag & Consistent Crashes

I captured two Reginald and placed them within the confines of my Alien Containment Aquarium. They began to reproduce. I wanted to breed other fish, so I periodically took 4-6 Reginald and released them into the wild near my base. In a period of 4-7 hours, I had released over 50 Reginald. I had three species in my aquarium, and I was happy.

I went out in my Seamoth to find more titanium. During my return, When I was 150 meters from my base, my game crashed. Thinking that something abnormal happened, I restarted my game and enjoyed my second journey back to my base. At the same distance, my game crashed again. This happened 5 times in a row at the same location. Assuming the worst, I deleted my terrain data. When I started my game, I had no lag, and I was able to return to my base without cautiously approaching it as slow as a snail would. My game didn't crash.

My conclusion: Adding more "items" (fish) to the world will eventually cause it to freak out and lag heavily. Being smart and re-populating the ecosystem is a "dumb" idea, since doing so will cause whichever area that has tons of extra "items (Reginald, in my case) to cause a lag storm.

That's not immersive! Now I can barely use my aquarium efficiently. Tears fell from my eyes for minutes as this realization destroyed a section of my soul.
