Idea for Sunbeam Story

Right now, the Sunbeam's arrival countdown only starts when you play the message that they are heading towards the planet for rescue. That could allow the players to do everything they need to go down to the main precursor facility, get the cure and then start the countdown.
How to fix it? The answer is in the Aurora's explosion. The Sunbeam message that starts the countdown is that they detected the debris field of the Aurora. What could be better than the drive core explosion to create that debris field?
After the explosion, no matter if the Sunbeam messages have been played or not, the countdown would start, firstly hidden as an underlying process due the player haven't played the message of the Sunbeam heading towards the planet yet. That means the 40 minutes would start right after the explosion (or maybe some time later to give time to detected the debris).
If the player plays the message, then the countdown will be visible. For example: if 30 minutes have passed between the Aurora explosion and the time the message was reproduced, then the countdown would show up with 10 minutes left. Otherwise, the Sunbeam destruction will happen as usual without ever have seen the countdown.
That way it would be mostly impossible to save the Sunbeam (by fair ways). I think it could be a good fix to this and it would make completely sense when introduced in the game.

That being said, having the Sunbeam event chain being tied to the detonation rather than the comms relay does sound more realistic.
I'm not really big on the PDA further bugging you with messages to be honest. The oxygen/food/water alerts are annoying (But helpful, I'll admit), the Biome ones are cute and is the AI commenting on something right there, but the nice thing about the Comms Relay was that it gave you the choice of listening in onto the longer messages or not. Besides which if the PDA can pick up the Sunbeam's messages, then it can pick up the Lifepod messages. And if it can pick up those.... Then why bother repairing Lifepod 5's comms or building your own at all?
I like my idea for that: Have a wireless headset that allows you to check and receive Comm Relay messages remotely when equipped. But you can easily decide not to listen to the messages, it's just available if you have it crafted.
Personally, I have to say I really like the change they made in the Castle & Coffee update. A simple "*beep* *beep* Oxygen" reminder is a lot better than the long-form warning. (Although, I don't know who did the voiceover for the PDA, but that's a lovely voice.)
Yeah, it was a pretty nice change. Simple yet effective!
And yes, a really nice voice~
If you think carefully about that, the PDA never gets any messages like those recieved on the comms relay. The PDA messages are just assistance messages depending on where you are, but those recieved in the comms relay are sent by other people. Also, think that the Sunbeam is faaaaar away from the planet (except at the end of the story event), there's noway the PDA could get those messages.
maybe with an objective... like you have an objective and when the objective is succeed or failed, a new objective comes up.. just like No Man's Sky.... (i hate no mans sky) like the communications relay now we can use to send a message to planet earth... or finding a new survivor... something like that
like we need to upgrade the communications relay with the modification station or use our habitat builder to put satellite around it to pick a bigger frequency to the sunbeam
