Should we be able to keep a stalker as a pet?

The things are awesome smart and kind of cute. The framework is there with the ability to feed it peepers and such, plus it looks like the back pectoral (side) fins could support a bit of weight as do the forward ones, do it could flop around your base a little bit like a seal or something, could assist in hunting, help protect you and so forth.

I don't think it should be easy l, I think you should have.to x many things after raising it from an egg (petting it feeding it etc) and the only way to find out if it's truly tamed is to release it outside alien containment and if it attacks you it's wild and you have to start over again but if it's tame it gives you an option to name it so on.

And then of course if it dies you have to start the process all over again.

Thoughts?

I feel like the poll is very bias "I hate puppyies"

Well the only people who wouldn't want stalker pets probably hate puppies as a general rule

Stalkers are pretty intelligent (They understand the concept of trading peepers for scrap, anyway) so I think they could be domesticated.

Maybe you could have to get two eggs and hatch two right? Then their egg could be the one that gets domesticated

I think it should be extremely difficult to aquire the stalker pets

You sort of can if you hatch it in Alien Containment. Not sure if they keep friendly behavior outside, though (hopefully?).

Be thankful that the reaper's echolocation ability isn't actually in the game. The scan says that if you can hear it, it'll know where you are.

No, the cute fish is going to be added in the future. The stalker as a pet won't make sense then, and it would ruin the "feel" of the kelp forest. That would make the kelp forest danger only bleeders and that about it.

No you have to tame one, the wild ones are still extremely hostile

If one IS able to make a Stalker a pet, then when traveling through the biomes with it, it should be attacked by other Stalkers as not being a member of their pod.

The stalker should recieve attacks from any aggressive predators.

I think this is pointless. We are not supposed to have pets in this world. It takes many years to tame wild animals. Dogs are domnesticated breeds.

The only thing I can think of is if you can make something with peepers to make like a gigantic chowder for them. The stalker that you tame is then not hostile to you at all and attacks other stalkers that attack you. But riding them and stuff to me does not work within this world.

The seaglide is abtained easily, more easily than that of taming a stalker. The seamoth is also easy to get so don't understand the use of riding one.

Its all for fun my dude

Its a video game, it's ok to have some fun and multiple methods of locomotion
I personally don't like the seaglide but to be riding a stalker around sounds like a blast. It's also possible to go through multiple generations of stalker using alien containment and I think you definitely should have to, like I said it should not be easy to obtain
