How do I use a controller with this game?

I recently got a controller for my pc but I can't get it to work on subnautica. I can set my controls just fine and the game recognizes which buttons I am pressing but when I unpause my game and try to use my controller it doesn't do anything.

    What kind of controller? The Xbox controller?

    If it is, in the Options menu, there should be a tab that says "CONTROLLER"

    Once there, you just change the controls.

    If it isn't, then, I don't know how to help you. Sorry.

    It is an xbox controller. I did that and changed the controls but nothing happens when I press the buttons after unpausing the game.

    (This might sound stupid but sometimes the obvious trips us up...)

    Is it a Logitech by any chance?
    Mine caused me some trouble, until I realised it wasn't turned on at the back. :*
