External Hard Drive Loads Faster

I don't know why, but I have noticed that Subnautica loads faster from my external drive than my Xbox's hard drive. I have the lowest-end 500 Gb Xbox One, and a 3 Tb Western Digital hard drive. I also don't get stuck on loading the Prefab Database when my world loads since I moved the game from the original drive. I hope this helps some of you who are having problems.

Probably the 500GB is a 5400 RPM, and the 3TB is 7200 RPM (possibly a hybrid with the 8GB SSD cache included?).

That would make sense. I don't think it is a hybrid but I could be wrong.

It did not boost the frame rate as far as I can tell (I think that might be RAM related). Cannot find a model number, and I'm not near it right now. It is the newest model Western Digital MyPassport. 3 Terrabytes, and its the one that looks like it has two lobes or halves on it where one is shiny and the other is matte.

Heh. That's just sad; I can't even find the RPM of that drive listed anywhere, let alone the amount of cache, or whether it's hybrid (but I doubt it, as they would probably tout that as a significant feature). Western Digital usually makes really good drives, though, and it appears its performance is stellar (or your XB1 drive is a bit lacking or maybe failing, either one).
