Sorry for reviving an old thread. I've been reading through the Spanish translation and I've noticed that the Seamoth and Prawn suit don't have a Spanish name. While there's nothing wrong with keeping the English names, I'd like to suggest replacing them. I speak very little Spanish, but to me something like Marpolilla and Traje Gamba sound not too bad and keep the player immersed.

For me the mindset when doing translation is to imagine myself being a 12 year old with very little fluency in English. Chances are they don't know what "moth" means. Maybe they recognize "sea" and know how to pronounce it, maybe not. I ask myself: would I cringe overhearing a conversation between said 12 year olds talking about how cool the "submarino se-a-mot" is?

Entiendo que estén ocupados los de UnknownWorlds con lo de sacar Subnautica del early acces en Steam. Pero por favor, que alguien me explique por qué el juego, antes de las actualizaciones de agosto, estaba completamente en español y ahora, algunos diálogos de la PDA (por ejemplo), están en inglés y otros en español.

jaja those names sound awful, more of a literal translation than anything, call the seamoth "polilla de mar" if you must (doesn't maken sense since its supposed to also work on space but whatever), but leave prawn like that, kids will never mention the "suit" part, they just say prawn
and kids here call superheroes and things like that by the english name most of the time, iron man, black widow, starlord, nobody says "masacre" for deadpool or "super hombre" for suprman, or congelados for frozen, kids just say frozen
even grown ups just call R2D2 "arturito" without knowing it has a meaning, and kids will never say "submarino se-a-moth", they would just say "el se-a-moth" or "el si-mot" (in case they even knew what sea is in the first place" without the "submarino" part
for kids, stuff in english is just cool sounding names even if they don't know the meaning

The translation is still in Spanish mixed with English. That brings me out of the experience, and it's a pitty, because I'm enjoying very much the game, but I'm not getting the whole story, since don't feel like translating almost every PDA I find...

La traducción aún está a medias entre español e inglés. Eso me saca totalmente de la experiencia y es una pena, porque esty disfrutando mucho del juego, pero no estoy pillando toda la historia, ya que no me apetece estar traduciendo casi cada PDA que me encuentro...
