You have to enter from the front section; the part that's blown off. If you follow the Aurora's hull tightly, you should soon find a hole through which you can U-turn onto the "beach" of the Aurora.
Friendly tip: stay as close to the surface and near the Aurora as you can.

Yeah, swim near the surface and make sure you travel by daylight. And when you start nearing the front part of the ship, just don't look down.

I am having trouble getting in. I've only found one entrance, in the form of a door, but it is bkocked off by crates and a bench. What am I doing wrong?

Find the other entrance, facing the Aurora, it's to the left and goes up top and goes to the right, then follow the structural beam to the right once you reach the top of that slope.
You might need another item that you can scan along the way, so scan anything you come across that hasn't been scanned already.

If you come across a T corridor with the left passage going down a ramp then the door being blocked off.... You can run up the top lip of the passage then sprint and jump over the wreckage. I really think they should fix that block off honestly, unless that's intentional (the propulsion cannon fragment in the hallway suggests so....)

They did fix it, they nixed two of the boxes, making it impossible to jump in.

By 'fix' I meant clear it up so you can get by without the propulsion cannon / trick jumping. Unless they wanted to deny you access w/o the cannon, which would be a bit odd since I almost never find the cannon fragments before I get the seamoth since they're always in fairly deep areas.

You can get the Seamoth in the red grass area (you don't need to go to the Aurora to get it). So I guess that's what they want, as they closed the hole in the side, and removed first one, and then another box so that you couldn't get by by trick jumping.
OK, so there is no longer an entrance into the Aurora from the front other than the one blocked off with debris/crates. No entrance on the level above that. How does one get into the deeper parts of the ship?

Supposedly you can manage to jump down into the cargo bay entrance from above with some skill (you will probably get burned too, and fire kills quick, so don't take your time, just scrabble on in there, and perhaps give it a quick dousing with a fire extinguisher, but IIRC that fire re-lights quickly!).

...Or leap through a fiery deathtrap into the cargo bay below. Is there a door number 3?

I'm afraid not. I strongly recommend doing it the intended way and get the propulsion cannon (do you wish for a hint where it is? You only need two fragments) because it'll make travel easier further into the ship.
Yeah I just watch a youtube video of that guy in the robot suit punching fish. I see there's a lot of fires and need cutting tool to cut a door. Also that guy didn't know the pin code for that 1 door.
I was in the Aurora yesterday. Opened a few care packages and got 2 first aid kits and a battery and a cell. Game crashed twice in it. But I saved while I was in there. Also with the lag it was hard to type in that pin code to open that one door. lol Then game crashed after I scanned cyclops parts.

Clear yourself a path with the propulsion cannon.
So...Get the propulsion cannon...

Then I wish you luck. Have fun!
I found the blueprint for the propulsion cannon. Gonna give the Xbox a break and come back to it later.
And I did have fun, thanks!
Definitely not a waste of time. But do come prepared with tools to make the most of your trip.
