All the ideas on lighting are great. I'm not so sure how much it matters if the controls have the pilot sitting or standing, but the view IS important.

I've just started running the Cyclops, and invariably end up using the camera views. In those, we desperately need DATA: depth, coordinates, power, compass.... and it should be placed right across the bottom of the screen leaving a CLEAR view of the depths. As I've posted before, I think the HUD concept isn't really needed here - we CAN afford to take time to glance at the controls and data - unlike a jet fighter at Mach 1!

I dunno, if I had a sub in this situation, I'd definitely try and reinforce the front, add sharp bits, and slap on any sort of afterburner that I could think of. For playing tag. o:)

Camera views for the Cyclops are great. I can't really imagine trying to pilot without them, I imagine it would involve a lot more banging. And if Cyclops gets collision damage, battery after battery used for welding...

The Cyclops should probably get integrated temp/compass, though. There's no reason it wouldn't have that data, and why would the PLAYER temperature sensor be detecting outside the hull from the cockpit?
