How do you setup your store rooms.?

Currently I have been trying to 3 different methods, each with differing amounts of storage units, the first would be the top room with the workbench and any other future crafting machines, the second is the room bellow the first and the third layout is an optional layout for the second room which gains an extra storage unit and also free's a lot of space.

I was experimenting with angled units but because we cant rotate the build ghost when placing you end up in a situation where you cant put the units where you want them as your backs either against a wall or another storage unit.

Would love to hear how others do their storage rooms.

Oh yeah forgot to add it but the right hand two rooms are often without a hatch so thats an extra few units that can be placed on those walls, also while I'm at it since these rooms will never have windows I always pad them out to make the base structure stronger which saves putting those in other areas where a window might be better.

I feel like you harvest way too much stuff.... I have 10 large lockers in my base and 6 more on the Cyclops and then a couple of small lockers sprinkled in for variety. Of those, only one on the Cyclops is ever full (consumables and extra tools) unless I'm out on a collection mission, and then in my base I've never run out of space with the 10 lockers I've already got.

I have lockers for specific goods I like it all organized so if I just throw everything in any locker thats got room I would have space as well, but I would rather have for example a locker full of only one resource so when I need something I know exactly where it is and where to get it.

Nothing worse than spamming open and close on a bunch of lockers looking for something when if your just a little more organized you could save that time and get it right away.

I dont like to go up with ladders so I tend to ignore that in any base layout as much as I can atm.

My storage room atm is just a big room with the walls filled with big lockers.
I may put some in the middle also but I cant put nametags on air, only the walls.. so yeh..

I also hate the ladders I use my fish park room to go up and down levels, i'v also started to put hatches on the lower store rooms so when I am bringing things in from the cyclops I can just go right to the appropriate room.

I really hope the dev's do something with the storage in game to make it better, this is supposed to be the future and were still stacking items on shelves.

would it be more effective to have a wall with 3 small lockers instead of 2 large ones?

    Wiki to the rescue:
    2 Lockers hold 48 items each = 96 items; *cost 2 Ti and 1 glass (2 quartz) each to build = 4 Ti & 4 Quartz total
3 Small Lockers hold 30 items each = 90 items; *cost 2 Ti and 1 quartz each to build = 6 Ti & 3 Quartz total

That said you can have a small locker on each side of a fabricator for close storage.
