Maximum Resolution is Lower than it should be after update

Since purchase, I have been happily playing at 1080p, but after this update the maximum available seems to be 1280x1024, which looks terrible on a 32" TV!
I have read about forcing the executable with a custom resolution, but that would mean playing without Steam overlay, unless someone knows the commands to force it through Steam?
Was working on previous graphics driver, updated today to check if it was to do with that, but still only shows max. res. to be 1280x1024...
Any help appreciated!

To add a little more, I have since validated integrity of system cache, nothing wrong there.
What the game usually looks like:
And what I currently get on 'Maximum' resolution:
As you can see, there is a lot of difference, and I find it very hard to play with the HUD so scrunched up! (It's almost like the HUD wants to be on a wide setting, but it just doesn't have the option in the launcher any more...)
Create a shortcut of Subnautica.exe, then edit the Properties, add the resolution options to the end of the Target:
*/Subnautica.exe -screen-height 1080 -screen-width 1920
Note: The in-game resolution options still may not show up correctly, but it should still look correct.
Might want to upload your output_log.txt from in your SN steamapps\common\Subnautica\Subnautica_Data folder for us to look at, as well as a dxdiag file.
This happened with that patch... it was very shortly after I saw Phaota's wish for 1280x1024 support on a Steam thread, so I've been silently blaming him this whole time hehe!
Is it o.k to attach files to posts? Some forums I have used in the past haven't had the hosting capacity, so thought it best to check before dumping the files here...
and thanks again, I don't expect an answer straight away due to the time of year it is - and it's my birthday today too, so probably won't remember to check back today myself!
Happy Holidays :-)
