I always build my main base on a cliff side because it is easier to access with the Cyclops.

Windows in the ceiling make the room open up a little, but i really wish there were all-glass corridors.

It's close to the surface and there are many foundations.

Depth has nothing to do with it as far as i understand the mechanic and there are 4 foundations, making 8 hull ppoints.
I did the math. if there are windows, hatches and reinforcements in all the places that would make sense, it have -1 hull points. Impressive ... doesn't look like it'd be possible. a smart layout.

Depth is part of it, I tested it. I put a base way down in the jellyshroom caves, and it breached pretty badly. Tried the same configuration in the kelp forest, and it was fine.

And the inner part of the double tunnel are all reinforcements.
Also have 1 reinforcement on the outside (farside in the pic) where I have lockers blocking the view anyways.

Yes the "dig #" console command is a wonderful tunnel digging thingy!
