Material shortage

Honestly, it is getting alot harder to find Quartz, limestone chunks, and scrap metal in easily accessible places where you can just swim to since the map is way too small. This has probably been suggested once or more, but i think the map should be infinite just like how minecraft works, just way too many materials you need to gather and find and the infinite map just makes the entire place abundant with resources. I also think there should be some way to charge the cyclops, but would use alot of space and materials to make.

Gathering resources and exploring is part of the Subnautica experience.

You misunderstand, minecraft can do the whole "infinite map" thing because the way it works.

I think Subnautica is way too heavy to make it have an infinite map but MAYBE it can use a RNG for a different map through every playthrough, thing is those aren't exactly stable plus there is the fact the dev's wants us to explore they world they created for us.

It will have its surprises waiting for us in every corner, from the shallow 10m depth to the deadly 3000m+ depth.

P.D.: They even reworked the jellyshroom cave so who's to say they won't improve and expand the ocean world in the future?

I think that they may just allow resources to respawn. As much as I might like to explore infinitely, I don't think that a procedural generator can ever be as good as a handcrafted map. Think about minecraft adventure maps Vs. norman terrain.
