I think NS is better...as of right now (1.02), if the devs listen to the folk who post here, it may get screwed up pretty quick.

It really depends on what you're looking for.

NS has it's own goods, and CS has it's own goods.

there's no definite "better" or "worse" on this issue since you're comparing apple and orange here.

How can you compare two games that are completely different? Counter-Strike is a team deathmatch with a bunch of weapons to choose from. Although I must say, it has gotten to be who can get the headshot off first, being a sneaky **obscenity** is CS pays off a lot. Anway, it's a lot different than Natural Selection, which has much fewer weapons, multiple spawns, hour long games, and two entirely different teams with entirely different tactics.
I stil play Counter-Strike, if I need a quick 5 minute fix before class. But if I have a lot of free time and want to get into the game, I'll go to Natural Selection.
Trying to compare these two games, and saying one is better than the other is like asking is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is better than a BLT.

I think that they are kinda 2 very different games so you cant really decide if one is specifically better then the other...

I find ns to be a slower paced, more technical game, while CS is faster paced more action directed, ns takes a lot of time to master and a lot more teamwork then cs does. NS is a game for people who have the time and patience to really enjoy it but anyone can pick up cs and start pubbing.

If i had to say tho, I would go with cs, only because its been around longer and the bugs of the game have been worked out and I know what im doing <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'> , of course assuming that the cheats arent in the server.

If the creators of the mod were dragged out into an airlock and ejected into the cold balck void of space, I would gather their little frozen chunks and personally deliver them into the center of a black hole.

I've never played CS.

I've played FvF, TF (Quake 1), WF, Gloom, SH, SH2, FQ:ROTF, and hosts of others (VS, AQ, S&I, BoTS, etc, etc .. heck even TotalQuake), but no CS.

Anything is better than Counterstrike. It's boring, unoriginal, requires no skill, is full of lamers and cheaters. What really bugs me is that at least hlaf the people who play CS would probably look at you quizically if you told them that CS is actually a MOD of Half-Life, and that there are hundreds of other free games you can download.

I despise any game which does not demand skill to play. Kharaa demands skill, CS doesn't. End of story. NS wins by a LONG shot <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

i am not saying ns couldnt stand on its own two feet but i think cs really paved the way for thousands of halflife and mod players
at the moment i would have to say i enjoy ns much more but i have thousands of hours of gameplay in cs
the big question is will ns pass the test of time

I think cs and ns serve different skill and pleasure playing. Only reason cs got worse was mainly the people... people are jack **obscenity** and you have to except that every time you go into a CS server you will get yelled at, called a newb, and racist remarks might come your way. Now it will happend to all games as the competition rises but that doesnt mean you have to. Many CS players have come to NS basing your life and skill on your score which i dont agree with unless you see some one who has 1 and 50 deaths... i mean god thats gotta worry you?! Yes, many of the ideas here will change and screw up the game like CS with this jump and you slow down crap... although you learn to live with these changes and start to like them and dont want them to be changed anymore. For example, when rock'n roll was all that now its punk and rap... we just learn to live with such times and doesnt mean you cant stop liking the old things either... I'm listening to Led Zeppelin right now =)
