Edit: ill just watch the vod and pretend its live by chatting to myself in notepad. Tnx for the info Best!
Edit2: Twitch vod not loading after 30min / the 1st match
WHAT a match! Thanks all for being there! We pulled in 32,000 unique viewers and peaked at about 2,500 concurrent viewers! Handful of people in chat never saw NS2 before and were excited about what they saw! Hopefully we'll pick up more players! Thank you to Twitch for the front page love!
Mimic v Scurvy VODs aren't really loading and reddogtv is closed by the community...no watchiwatchi for me
The 'closed by community' message is a bug - happened to a few yesterday. A cache refresh should fix that. I will be uploading the match from yesterday on my YT soon. Will post here when it's ready.
@reddog be sure to explain some basics when you do the live finals. I liked that you briefly explained what loosing 3 spurs meant. I also liked your explanation of arcing, how to do it, what it does, etc...It might be annoying for veteran players but invaluable for any new player checking out NS2.

I don't understand :P WTF are theses games? and WTF do they have to do with the NS2WC? Like, we had the qualifiers, and we know who is going to Cologne, so why are there more games being played under the banner of NS2WC?

I get it, I guess my point was more about why this hasn't been promoted, and why I had to find out through this post rather than any official notification, I mean, i wasn't even aware of the Horizon bracket before watching these VOD's.

I agree the promotion of the NS2WC has been lacking in my opinion. You have to seek out information yourself at www.ns2wc.com Even that website is a bit slow to update. The site doesn't explain what NS2 is nor even have a link to buy NS2 or NS2 gear...

the issue is that its hard to promote stuff when you don't know when the games are even going to be played. Since competitive ns2 is such a niche, there is no $$$ to 'force' people to play at certain times. add to it that teams come from around the world and scheduling/playing matches gets pretty random. Our match wasn't confirmed until 4 or 5 days beforehand. How much of a joke would it be if the hype was "come watch NS2WC losers bracket sometime this weekend!"
The promotion for the finals is already up because there's $$$ involved and dates set.
Gotta feel sorry for the party involved at the 9 minute mark in round 4 there, horrendous luck to have his egg moved halfway across the room into a terrible spot. It could be argued (strongly) that it made little difference to the outcome of that round, given the preceding incident in hub (ouch!) and the flow of that round up until the point, but that rotten piece of luck was the final nail in the coffin that round. I've rage quit for WAY less than that in the past!

My main point was until watching these VOD's today, that fact that a loser's bracket EVEN EXISTED, was outside of my knowledge. There has been NO MENTION of a loser's bracket taking place, nothing on the NS2 news feed, not even a self-promoting thread from Wasabi or any of the promoters.
And 5 days notice is a hell of a long time, in NS2 you are normally talking a day or two. 5 days is more than enough days to make a thread in this very forum we are reading now at least, isn't it?
