Now that NS2 has been out of beta for a good while...

Is there any chance of removing the Build number from the top left of the screen? For new players, and in comparison to other games, it's a very "beta" like item, like the Windows version on preview or RC installs.

Move it to r_stats or something?

Also, any chance at all of making the console copy paste? It's make copying data from the logs much easier in game.

Any other little things you guys see that might make it look more final/polished?

I believe there was once a time when UWE were thinking of using version numbers...but build numbers are actually very easy to refer to both in public and internally.

I've got no big opinion on this, but I guess the version number system might be more informative if there are more big updates coming. You could for example separate the patches pre and post BT, Gorgeous and Reinforced by incrementing one value and then identify the smaller patch count by another value. For example 1.3.2 would refer to 2nd patch after the 3rd major update or so.

On present builds it's not really a biggie, but if someone asks me where NS2 was at build 237 I have no clue on when it was and how it looked. With some version numbering you're able to catch the big outlines right away.

In NS1 the ability to quickly separate 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 eras was really useful for any contructive discussion.

I agree and I thought the exact same thing when NS2 hit 1.0. Then I was very surprised it was still there... and still in the patch after that, and after that.

But I never cared enough to make a thread. :P It's so tiny it's not actually in the way, but it does feel very "beta". It has been useful though, since NS2 has changed so much over time, this allows player to spot outdated YouTube tutorials and such, if paying close attention.
