NS1 maps to NS2

Are there any tools to allow converting and importing of old NS1 (.bsp) maps into the NS2 editor, for tweaking, and eventually, playing!

I'm looking at bringing my old project back from NS1 and it'd be great if I didn't have to fully start again!

Even if it was possible (I think there is a way), "tweaking" is not going to produce a playable map. It basically has to be rebuilt from scratch if you're using a decompiled or imported BSP file.

Most of the old maps (eclipse, tanith, and a few more I can't remember the name of) are remade and are hosted on the joe.to server.

Unfortunately, joe.to server is a sub30 piece of ###### server

Just about the only way to bring NS1 maps to NS2, is in the way of the "name" only. With the simple introduction of tech points in NS2, maps from NS1 will never be full balanced in NS2.

    Unless your talking about combat.

Spark editor supports importing .bsp files, but only using an old version of Hammer I do believe. And you are best to just use the imported data as a scale tool and re-build from scratch.

If thats the way it's gotta be done, then that's how i'll do it..

I wasn't talking about the old NS1 official maps specifically, more-of some maps I made in NS1, so I could bring them to NS2!

Make sure to keep an eye on scaling as well though, using the NS2 player models. I think the scaling from GoldSrc to Spark do not translate very well

    true!
that's exactly how a guy (I don't know his name but he was on NS2 HD) is building a remake of ns_caged right now. A playable beta version has been released (with no textures though, just the rooms).
