<div class="IPBDescription">Opening tournament</div>ESL is hosting a tournament called "ESL 6v6 Section Opening Cup". Big thanks to Noctis, Cejlon and Cassie for setting this up, as well as GISP. Word on the street (GISP) says its not gonna be on sundays, so no interferance with ENSL. Lets get this going, so go sign up! 50 teams max.

    You beat me to posting something to make people more aware of it,shame on me!

    I can confirm that we do not plan to have matches scheduled for Sundays,in order to not cause any interference with possible ENSL matches.

    ESL page might be worse than ENSL. No kidding. The first team who manages to join, I will provide a cookie for in exchange for telling me how.

    Also, I think this tourny will be played on EU times and servers.

    Matches are, by default, not casted from our side, we are however looking into finding someone to stream the Final rounds for your viewing pleasure.
    However teams are allowed to organize matchcasts on their own, if both teams agree.

    More information the tournament in general will be released in a couple of hours at most.

    exuse me, but i can't figure out until when you can sign up ... when i consider, that the games should start at the first of december, i guess it will be very close, or allrdy over ...
    i just found the cup yesterday, when i looked at the ESL Europe section for the first time. I've never heard of it before and just oversaw the new "sticky" thread here, though i look everyday in this forumsection right here ...
    i would have liked it to support you with a Newspost on lerk.de, but now i think, it's most likely too late :( ...
    anyway ... if you postpone the cup, or of course in the next cup, i will definitely spread the word ;)

    It seems like this cup has suffered from a lack of publicity. Either the admins need to do it themselves by posting on relevant websites (ensl, the official ns2 general forums, and so on) and contacting teams on steam friends, or ask central people in the community to do that work for you. This thread alone doesn't do much good.

    With the right amount of publicity, you should easily be able to get 25+ teams for this.

    At this point you should probably postpone the cup start 1 week and start spamming people to join...

    I should also add that scheduling the tournament to have matches played during Christmas (24th-31st of december) is guaranteed to be a disaster with either lots of forfeits or postponed matches. Many players, and consequently teams, will not be able to play matches in that time period (which is why the ENSL, for example, have a break during that period).

    Cystitis will sign up for this but yes the website was a pain for my brain... Definitely needs wider advertising.

    Ideally the Christmas break should begin on the the 28th at the very latest.

    The ENSL winter break streches from 16th of december(last day of matches), to 6th of january(matches start again).

    Some more information soon, I'll try finding better ways to distribute information over the place, is there anything you all could suggest to do so other than the official forums/page? I'm still out of touch with most of the remaining communities at this point in time.

    I would suggest posting a new thread in the "General Discussions" part of these forums, posting a thread on the ensl.org forums, making a post on reddit.com/r/ns2, and finally asking UWE (Strayan/Hugh would probably be the right person to contact) if they could post a link to it on the official twitter feed.
