Server browser does need work, but it's acceptable for the launch.
For mods, my solution would be to first remove maps from counting as modded content, secondly to create a dropdown box for gametype that is populated by the most played workshop mods, so default to ns2, then combat, then NS2C etc. Finally add in the tags system seen in other source games and allow them to be searched, which should mean people can find any gametype they like with a fair amount of ease.
Just for the default browser, filter by map, player slots and slots remaining would be nice.
IT is common convention to have your internal versions as "builds" rather than versions - especially in applications where you make a lot of alterations.
You'll see this in a lot of areas, for example the build number of windows has steadily been increasing and is currently at 9200 as of windows 8. it was ~7k mark for windows 7 (from memory, might be slightly off).
That is nitpicking, snip I don't even think there is anything to nitpick either, just because something is 1.0 does not mean it has not gone through 228 builds, because it has.
o_0 ?
Also I might add that I can't connect to any server. I have a feeling it is my router though, but I can only refresh my server list the first time I get into NS2. Also, if I try to connect to a server it just says 'attempting connection' and then jumps back to the main menu and says 'unable to establish a connection'.

there is no option to submit bug report or anything, when i get the game on, i connect to a server, and it says "initializing game" the logo stops working and i alt tab out to find ns2 not responding, and steam not responding. Its been since build 160 since ive actually got into the game and been able to look around, with very terrible frame rate, below 20. glad to see the frame rate at 80 in the options menu, but i want to play LOL! so that being said where do i submit a bug report lol
Thing i hate the most is the joining servers.. u get kicked to main menu if its full. instead of getting into a queue. either fallback to server browser place or get into a queue would be my tip.
edit: after some testing multicore option on/off dont give me anything. do someone see any difference with this option?
edit2: change of chrosshairs. make all important changes which can be done in console be in options gui and with information. this was main drawback of halflife engine. all options in console was like "hidden" and with no info about em.

The sound effect is meant for when you run through the ballcourt target holograms but when the map layout changed the sound wasn't updated. Simon, the sound guy has to move it. And he was kind of busy leading up to release doing, oh, I dunno, adding all of the sounds for the Refinery map, doing all the sound/music for the launch trailer, and a whole ton of other priority sound adjustments and additions. So, a random offset woosh noise in one room was not exactly the most OMG HAVE TO FIX NOW bug.
What holes in vents? Those were fixed, then the fixed version was accidentally not released, so everyone complained about them more, and then we finally released the proper map version. As far as we know those holes have been fixed, and we haven't heard anyone else complaining.
Floating Hives in terminal and cafe...we've been planning on fixing this issue in a much better way, by having multiple versions of the hive with varying tentacle lengths that the mappers can place, depending on the height of the ceiling. Better then always having to have the ceilings at the fixed height, or having to have cables or something handing down for the hive to attach to. And since Terminal and Cafe are not starting hives, this was set to a low priority.
Are you saying you want to be able to build in the plants and you can't or you are able to build in the plants and you think you shouldn't be able to? Not sure if that counts as a bug, either way.
Sorry these horrible horrible game breaking bugs seem to be really bothering you, we will get them fixed someday, I promise.

Putting an icon beside the server title isn't going to help the majority of casual players. Most people probably just look at player number/ping and join. Maybe putting a unique loading screen for mods that explicitly says, this ain't no vanilla no mo, would be more attention grabbing. But I agree totally that modded servers are going to have a hard time getting traffic with the default mod filter.
Great work guys. Gave away some extra copies of the game to friends this week :)
What is this about "Added option to disable camera animations."? Is this a temporary fix until the camera animations are tweaked? This to me is the same as having an option to rotate the camera when the skulk is walking on walls/ceiling. It differentiates the games to much from player to player, especially when adding skulk/lerk tilt to the mix. If turning of camera shake when firing the rifle gives you an advantage then everyone will use it and there is no point of having that feature in the beginning. Not angry in any form, just asking. My 2 cents.
Cheers and have a great NS2 weekend.

Really?
I don't think that I want to play with people who are unable to tell that a server, having a corresponding icon next to it & beeing displayed in a special color, is modded. NS2 is probably not the right game from them then, as there are far more complicated aspects to the game, that they have to perform to be successful.
The icon could even say "MOD", or its meaning could be explained when hovering over it with the mouse. There are 1000 ways to make it better than it is now and make everyone happy.
There's a few things I would like to see sooner rather than later though.
1st I would like it so that cloaked aliens and buildings are more visible to alien players. Its currently impossible as a khammander to find and select important buildings that are cloaked. Its also difficult to find Crags that are cloaked as a player.
2nd I think that the commanders should have their teammates highlighted on screen at all times. Blue for the Commanders marines and orange for the Khammanders aliens. It's currently difficult to see your own players in some of the dark environments and I think this would greatly improve the commanding experience. Maybe highlight aliens onscreen for the commander when they get scanned as well.
3rd Some range attacks like Bilebomb and Gorge Spit are essentially invisible when you have the alien flashlight on. It would be handy to be able to see these projectiles as well as the splash created by bilebomb.

Would like to see further improvements to the server browser now, just to be a little more responsive / user friendly.
Congratulations again on a successful launch, had a few of my friends playing for the first time and all of them are loving it.
Shouldn't the build numbers be reset or something now that 1.0 is out ?

I do use that setting. I don't have a laptop and desktop (or budget for both) so i settled for an "all rounder laptop" almost 1.5years ago.
i have a 540M Nvidia GFX but greatly reduces my FPS on 1364*784 (or whatever that 13xx *7xx resolution is)
I already play all my settings on LOW.
I do know that laptops are not meant as gaming machines (especially mine) ; but sometimes people need to get by ...
besides fixing the bug for 800x600 resolution is still important...
it doesnt matter how good a game is. if there are lesser people playing, it simply becomes worst.
part of the reason why WOW was successful was actually due to low cpu requirements.
